Being told #NHLBruins have added speed to the lineup but have not heard specific names yet.

So vague lol

Haha sure. How do you distribute those minutes hypothetically? 28 Karlsson leaves only 32 for Ceci and Hamilton. Fun dilemma though.

After this winning streak it's hard to justify trading anyone on the active roster aside from maybe legwand. Didn't think they had it in them to beat SJ last night on multiple occasions

I would think the ability to trade Cowen is pretty obvious at this point. The Sens are better without Cowen, the D has been close to perfect.

Agreed. And puempel had a nice game too. Would imagine lazar starts in bingo next year

Wiercioch is still going to be the one moved. Saying they are better without COwen is relying on small sample sizes.

It's the exact equivalent of saying they are better wih hammond in net

It's not a small sample size, Cowen isn't a very good NHL D man. He's good enough to be on a bottom pairing but he has shown absolutely nothing to say he's anything more than that. Same could be said for Wiercioch.

You might be right though, Wiercioch might be the guy out the door but my person opinion has always been Wiercioch will be the better player long term and I think right now he's showing that.

If you want to really break it down I think moving Gryba is the best move, this would allow both Cowen and Wiercioch to get more frequent ice time and develop. Gryba is what he is. It also opens up the chance for Wideman to get some games.

I also think Cowen is the piece they could potentially use to land a better player up front along with Lehner but like most people have suggested that's prob summer move.

If the Sens can land Hall like a lot of people have whispered about for Cowen, Lehner, with additional picks and prospects going their way I wonder if Edmonton pulls that trigger? Could those two plus Ottawa's 2016 1st round pick be enough to get the wheels going on that type of deal? Could you add Puempel in there and it be enough?

Cowen, Lehner, Peumpel, and 2016 1st for Hall? That would be pretty close IMO. Money in and money out is about the same as well.

Wonder if the Flyers would ever make a B.Schenn for Cowen type move?

Getting more and more difficult to argue Cowen's case with the way the team is doing without him. Weircioch is still tough to watch in his own zone but then again, Cowen usually is too. How long does Cowen get to carry the "potential" tag with him...he needs at least another step regarding foot speed to be an effective physical player. Slower guys have done it but he doesn't have the IQ to pull it off so unless he gains that extra step, ya, he is what he is.

Wiercioch moves the puck extremely well which is important on a team being built with speed. Moving Weircioch before Cowen IMO is a mistake. Not a game changer but a mistake none the less.

On top of that I think Boroweicki has turned into what they wanted Cowen to be which is also a factor.

Cowen's sh*t or get off the pot time was this year and while his game has improved vs last year it hasn't been good enough to call him a top 4 D man or better than Wiercioch at this point.

I have to agree. 5 months ago, I would have said no to the idea of moving Cowen, but he just doesn't seem to have the hockey IQ to be much more than a bottom pairing guy. And what OTT needs clearly is a lefty #3/4 dman.

The biggest factor for me has been how organized they have looked in their own zone. Weircioch is soft but for the most part well positioned. Cowen is probably our toughest dman to play against in our end but he's usually a play behind everyone else.
Is it just simple correlation or is Cowen out the big factor in improved d-zone play?
