Cowen used to be successful when he was physical and could skate up ice and make a pass, he's neither now. Mix that in with bad decision making a pure lack of hockey sense that's what you get. Again, I think he's a complete bust. Yes I think Cowen being a 3rd pair guy means he has busted. Could he be a servicable NHLer? For sure but it shouldn't be in Ottawa.

I hope he's traded so people can shut up about the guy.

Well he's the guy who is really struggling and has been for a long while now. It's a legit convo.

I was hoping he'd be traded awhile ago. Now I hardly see the point. Maybe hope he can take a shift on the 3rd pairing because that's a big ticket for another team to take a chance on.

As for the coming back from injury excuse, he didn't seem to be in a hurry to get back on track while he was holding out for big cash dollars.

Also something I have a huge issue with but at this point it's completely irrelivant.

So @darrendreger just told us on TSN Radio that a Philly source openly wondered whether Luke Schenn can even play anymore. Hoo boy.

For sure. Schenn was obviously a bust much earlier. I've been critical of Cowen but I wouldn't say he can't play at all.

Lazar is a Junior on a tryout right now. Big deal. You have to play everyone at your disposal to you what you have. That wasn't determined in pre-season no matter what people think.
