I was actually just about to post this too. Very interesting.... Should make for a good draft tonight.

To Phoenix: Spezza, Methot, Prince

Then the Sens sign Vrbata and Ribeiro. Sens take the top talent from the Yotes and make a run this year.

I read that Ribiero is a problem case... might want to stay away from that one. more then likely we're heading for grabovski.

Ok, I take it back. Maloney made it pretty clear that Ribeiro isn't in a position to perform to expectations right now. He suggested that Rib is seeking help for "his behavioural issues."

Holy cow. You see it in print and it's surprising.

Murray says the offers aren't good enough and the Sens are willing to hang onto him past the draft.

Renaud Lavoie @renlavoietva · 24m I'm told that the Senators don't have a good offer on the table for Jason Spezza. He won't be traded today if it doesn't change. #tvasports

NEELY wrote:You do not let Spezza start the season in Ottawa... you are just asking for an absolute disaster of an NHL season if that's actually the case.  I refuse to believe that happens because it would be complete incompetence.

I felt the exact same way when Yashin sat out a year then was forced to come back. You had Prospal calling him out (that he quit on the team and would not we welcomed back), you had his 'C' give to someone else, yet he came in, they played and won some games, then he was traded. He had a pretty good season, too.

The Sens aren't competing for anything above home ice in the first round this year and next, so not having a finely tuned, cohesive team heading to the post-season is not such a big deal. And if they miss, then at least they have a 1st rounder next year and Spezza can go at the deadline.

I'd like to think Dallas and Chicago are the front-runners for Spezza right now. Just opinion. If STL were serious they'd have upped their offer by now.
