Spezza isn't a better player than Thornton, lol. Better goal scorer for sure, never in his life has he been a better player.

Spezza did make Heatley better more than Thornton did.

Heatley was on a sharp decline while in Ottawa so that's not saying much. Spezza didn't make Heatley better, the Sens had the best goal scorer in the world for a short period of time and he also had Alfie on the other side. Spezza was the 3rd best player on that line... hell Chris Kelly was put in the middle there and put up some respectable numbers when Spezza was injured.

If you want to use that logic there Sandy best not forget Cheechoo, picking and choosing your argument doesn't fly. Spezza couldn't get Cheechoo a goal, Thornton got him 60.

True. Cheechoo's problem besides the injury was his skating.

Point being is Thornton turned a marginal NHL player in a 60 goal scorer... that was his peak... Spezza has never approached that even playing with 2 world class players in their respective primes. It's not an argument who is and was better.

I think St Louis has a great chance of getting Stastny. He grew up there and they have plenty of cap room to sign him for 7M+.

Colorado, according to A Datar will only go to 6M.

if sens want to make sure blues don't get Stastny, then offer him everything.

Yep, that's the strategy. Eugene is gonna need to offer the moon here so that way the Sens will control the summer.
