It's Krypreos though - who knows jack.

Murray said he did talk to Yzerman today in passing so... could be something there.  If they offer up Drouin I bet the Sens snap call.

Pipe dream that would make any plumber a millionaire.

That's the only way he is traded in division.  Tampa also has an extra pick this year and next (both NYR).  If they offer up Drouin and NYR's 1st round pick next year then that's a deal you take.

Also, if you look at Tampa they need a #1 center in a bad way because after Stamkos they don't have much and they will lose out on Stamkos' best years.  If they don't land a #1 center then they will be losing a lot of hockey games.  Not to mention Callahan isn't coming back.

Stamkos is their #1 centre....

Sorry, a number 1 center type with Stamkos.  Best teams are built up the middle and Spezza would be the #1 center on the PP where Stamkos does play a lot of wing.

I made that comment making the assumption Stamkos was on the wing, not sure why.

Makes sense but I don't see why they would ever give up Drouin and a 1st let alone Drouin by himself.

I honestly don't care if he gets traded in-division. What does it matter to us?

It matters in the sense you will hit him in the playoffs over time at some point, there's a price to be paid for that.  I don't care if he goes in division but if the deals are equal then you ship him out.

Help the receiving team, short-term. This "addition-by-subtraction" just doesn't happen unless you are getting rid of a cancer in the room.

98-99 Sens had 103 points, 3rd in the league.
99-00 (Yashin holds out) Sens finished 10th with 95 points
00-01 (Yashin forced to come back) Sens got 109 points, good for 4th in the league
01-02 (Yashin gone) Sens drop to 95 points, 14th in the league

Well then he's done for the post season so that's great!

It could actually work both ways. I'm sure if the 2001+ Sens ever met the Islanders in the playoffs they would have worked just as hard to show Yashin as he would to show them. And I'll take a whole team pulling for something vs. a single player every time. So this trading in-Division thing may not have much to do with playing against the player.

Can't believe they didn't stream it live.

They mentioned on TSN1200 this morning, that it wasn't at the podium just a scrum. That's why it wasn't broadcast live.

Unless the clear-cut best offer comes from within the division.

Bishop as part of the package? Andy goes with Spezza for Bishop +++ (don't know a lot about their prospects). Drouin maybe?

It's what they have coming in goaltenders. Both unproven, but one of them will be traded. They can have Andy until then. Sens go with Bishop & Lehner.

Friedman said that the Stars are "stealth-like" in their pursuit of Spezza.

Dreger reports that Dallas is also interested in Phanoof. The speculated offer is Jaime Benn, Tyler Seguin and all picks from the next 3 drafts.

The reported offer for Spezza, according to Dreger? The Trivago Guy and a can of baked beans.
