Berglund is good, scored 20 more than twice I believe at the age of 25. He had a bag year and a bad playoff, it's selling low for St.Louis. Add in Rattie and a 1st and you're in decent shape to be sure.

You mean your starting to warm up to the package we've discussed we might get from St Louis?

Yes...a little bit anyway.  Why do you ask?

I just think in some cases we might be overvaluing what we'll get back for Spezza.  Who knows what kind of package we'll get for him, so I just found it funny when you called it the "St Louis package" when it's the furthest thing from official.

It makes the most sense though. St. Louis doesn't give up much off their current roster and gets their top offensive c. Sometimes it doesn't take too much to see what teams would offer.

yes with DSP you're getting more risk but he's a player on the upswing. you might be able to add Etem to that deal and +. i like what that brings us. I like picks like everyone but i prefer prospects that are further along and we have a better idea of how they are. especially if it's in this year's draft class.

if you deal with St-louis you want better then Berglund

That was BM's attitude when he traded the Tarasenko first for Roundleaf. That was one of the worst trades ever. It's mitigated by one of the best ever when they turned young David into a 1LC, of course.

In other news, it's nice that Murray has made trades with both StL and the Ducks. Like someone mentioned before, you can't underestimate the value of those relationships.

And Murray sounds like Donald Duck, so there's that. Just hope they don't think he's mocking them.

How was that a bad trade? They traded a pick, not Taarsenko.

Ya, but they got an AHL player in return.

It was a first for a first who was more developed. There weren't many great players at that pick, if any at all.

I wonder if Murray might forego the prospect from St. Louis and go for sobodka, berglund and the 1st. Reading more about sobodka is very impressive. One of the best 3cs out there in terms of face off percentage @ 62 percent can chip in 35 points and is hell to play against.

Last thing we need is 3rd line centers... We need to get wingers that will help our young centers (Zibanejad/DaCosta/Lazar...)

I'd personnally take an Anaheim offer esp if we can get our 1st back. I'd love the Sens to get Draisaitl. Big fan of that guy.

That's quite true actually. I was thinking that last night trying to sleep. If the Sens are serious about Zibanejad only being a C, then we're gonna need wingers. And left handed ones at that.
I don't see how da costa fits in unfortunately.

Who comes with the 10th in this scenario?

Smith Pelly and Rackell? Not sure.
Anyway, In an ideal world we get that top 9 power forward in DSP and we sign Stastny.

Virtanen is the guy I would take with that pick, snarl and scoring which isn't easy to come by.  They missed out on Wilson from Washington so this is a guy I think they would like to lock down.

If they can snag DSP, a 1st, and some other prospect that would be perfect.

Out 4-6 months for shoulder surgery. That makes me nervous. Shoulder injuries never seem to heal properly.
