Hilarious that Spezza needs to be insulated, can't take the heat, is injury prone, and a defensive liability, but is somehow worth a good young player, a top prospect, and a 1st.

If Spezza were on another team, and we saw those comments about taking too much of the blame, would we give up the same package? Of course not. I wouldn't even want him on the team.

And shame on Murray for leaking that. It is a one-line tweet that can be used by those who dislike Spezza to flame him. Like him or not, Spezza is kind of treated like a starting QB in the NFL - too much credit for winning, too much blame for losing.

It certainly would be curious to see what he would do with an elite forward like Kessel and a really good one in JVR, rather than playing in Ottawa with a couple of 3rd liners.

Kessel? You mean the guy that skates like the wind? No chance.

Spezza is not even close to as good as you believe he is and right now the Sens are making 100% the right move thanks to Spezza being nothing but a little glory hound who can't handle the heat. Wants the captain and all that comes with it... well other than the hard work, complete game, sacrifice, and the critics.

Some truth to some of those...

Some... could the Sens have taken the high road? Probably. Is most if not all of this on Spezza? Absolutely. Had a bad year as captain... then bails, can't handle it. No one and I mean no one should feel bad for Spezza, he's a career loser and he will need someone else to drag him to a cup and even then he will probably make a major error somewhere down the line to cost his new team too.

On that note you can't really cut something that isn't there. Spezza has so little character that it amazes me he doesn't just play out the last season then bail.

Also Sandy if you don't believe most of that blame came from MacLean and other players (like MacArthur who basically called out Spezza short of mentioning his name) then I am not sure what else I can say to you.

Might be time to admit you bet on the wrong horse.

Spezza for sharp? I'd be so happy.

Mind boggling the way this is going down... seriously... WTF.

Or someone suggested sharp + leddy for Spezza, but clearly that's too little from us. Diddle I'd love sharp. There are those rumours he doesn't fit in there, I'd love to have him here and Chicago was a 2c away from making the final IMO.
