Jason Spezza - Trade Discussion

There was a lot of negative things said about Turris before he got here.  Similar situation in Toronto with Kadri...the coach hates him (probably race related).

I'm 100% surprised to hear that you'd be fine and dandy with a little rat like Kadri coming to a young, impressionable team.  Granted, he would never be the captain (lol), but why would you even want to begin to go down the road of having a player like that as part of the new core.  It makes no sense, it's something a less learned fan would say/want.

Kadri isn't afraid of throwing the body, gets to the net, plays as physical as he can... Spezza does none of that.

Also, where did this idea that Kadri is lazy come from?  Same group of people that said Turris is lazy or?  I know what I like in a hockey player, Kadri has a lot of the things I look for.  I think the diving is disgusting but 1/2 the NHL does it so w/e.

It wasn't a secret. When Eakins was coaching the Marlies he finally had enough of asking/telling Kadri to work hard off ice and on ice that he contacted his father and got him to try to get some sense into him.

The hockey players this franchise is looking for are the guys who never, ever need to be told that, let alone have it begged to them time and time again.

Why do you think he's on the block in the first place? For fun? Toronto needs Cs in a huge way, yet they're willing to trade Kadri? Hmmm, I wonder why that is. Could it be because a leopard never changes his spots? Kadri's still a useless, lazy little bastard? I think that has a lot to do with it.

And who said Turris was lazy? That was part of the smear campain that happened with him wanting out of Phoenix. Recently Tippett said he was instructed not to play the young players too much so Phoenix could negoatiate lower deals with them. Said he never had one issues with Turris and the rumours of a rift were pure fabrication.

Well, the Kadri rumours are not a fabrication. He was a lazy little punk - and the fact that Toronto is going to trade his this off-season means very little has changed.

I think if the player plays hard, the Toronto coaches couldn't care less what race they are.

My point is he might be a good return. I'd take the Berglund/Rattie/1st and take a gamble on Ho-Sang with that first.

Berglund with the severely injured shoulder who most likely needs surgery, but hasn't had it yet? If he does get surgery like sometime in July, wouldn't he be out about 4 mos which would mean he wouldn't start the season?

Maybe the deal falls through due to the Berglund injury.

I'm hoping for Phoenix. A roster player, Henrik Samuelsson and their 2014 1st round pick which is 12th overall. Would you do that if you were Murray? Another question is, would Phoenix do that. Are they desperate for an offensive centre good on faceoffs.

The Leafs have been out of the hockey rumours lately.  He needs to get them back in. Do you really think Kadri is worth Berglund, Rattie and a 1st?

No I meant Kadri would be part of a deal with stlouis hypothetically.

I'd do hanzal pretty much straight up for Spezza. Or a different player + Samuelsson + 14ov

I think those are two separate things. i'm sure if the right top 6 forward would come along, say shwartz then yes they'd do it. i think he's just trying to broaden the possibilities for a trade.

First time Schwartz has become even remotely possible though. Or oshie I guess.

If it was one for one Schwartz is who I'd want. But is he untouchable.

If they are doing one for one then it will have to be top 6 player not named Berglund.
