Methot being moved is starting to look like the only move on D as well - especially if you're looking to bring in a veteran. Not Phillips because you literally just signed him, Cowen likely stays, Ceci stays, Gryba stays, Boro is cheap and rugged so he stays. That's assuming Wiercioch is moved.

Someone has to move on D. Methot or Cowen? Who else could it be?

Crazy couple of weeks coming.

If "Karls" Karlsson asks management if they plan on spending a little dough to have a chance to make the playoffs, he will be moved after the GM announces he demanded a trade.

You see, asking for improvements to the roster is the same as asking for a trade in Ottawa.

If the Avs move O'Reilly it will be to the East. If they are moving him to the East the Sens need to send whatever they want the Avs way and IMO that would be Cowen at the very least with an obvious + on top of him. Is it Spezza? Not sure but Colorado needs D more than a Spezza.

Could there be a move something like O'Reilly and McGinn for Cowen and Spezza? Maybe. Either way, if O'Reilly is available Ottawa should be throwing Colorado pretty close to whatever they want short of a core piece moving.

I've felt that Colorado would be the place since before the trade deadline and I think you were leaning that way too, as I recall.

There were legit discussions with them and the Sens want O'Reilly is a bad way. They have made many tries at him. There will 100% have to be a D man going back and it would be Cowen.

I still don't think Colorado let's O'Reilly walk though.

He certainly would be a good one to get. But he made 6.5M last season and I assume he would want a raise.

The Hockey Simmer only puts the chances of Spezza moving at 75 - 80 percent. He could be staying, folks.

The way they're treating him, he'll walk as a 25 year old UFA in 2 years anyway.
