Why does he even say that, why not just say hi I'm Matt Spezza and let people ask.

The captain? I'd think that would be quite hard.
His contract is large, he under performed this year, and they can give the C to Kopitar or Doughty.

Hey, I wonder if Ryan and Spezza would click. Might wanna give that a shot. For a few games, anyway.
Ryan doesn't need Spezza. He's a puck possession guy anyway, he can take the puck in himself.

That was a joke.

I see....

It's a good counter for the kings next season to the san jose sharks who I think might finally win the big cheese. And I get the sense brown is out of favor with the staff in LA.
even more the reason to make it happen. wouldn't feel bad about the trade.SpezDispenser wrote:Michallica wrote:Dustin Brown for Spezza? I'm intrigued.....makes a lot of sense. Kopitar and Spezza down the middle...what we shoudl have seen here in Ottawa

Meh, maybe you're right actually. If they can re-sign Spezza before the trade goes down, then I can see them thinking about it. But...Spezza would be eaten alive in the Pacific...yikes.
captain with a cup ring... i think we'd do well to bring in some players that have been instrumental in winning a cup.tim1_2 wrote:Brown would be pretty good, yeah, and he can play either wing. His offensive production took a dip this season...that's my only concern, but could also be a reason why LA would want to be rid of him.
His contract is a cap hit of $5.875M until 21-22.

Just before they won the Cup.
