That has potential, and also if Lehner plays really well the last couple games it could affect contract negotiations.
Who knows. That's pretty shady if that is the case. But, it is a business at the end of the day.

Regardless of whatever the actual truth is, you just gotta hope that The Lehner hasn't been alienated by the way he was used this year.  I assume he realizes that he's still our goaltender of the future, and that future should begin in a few months time.

Ottawa is such a mess now.

Exactly. Who cares if we pick 35th or 40th. Ideally I'd like to get out of the bottom 10 so as not to give the Ducks a top-10 pick. Getting by the Leafs pretty much guarantees that, and then some. They're 1 point back of Vancouver with a game in hand, so a win tonight move them to at least 9th. And if Dallas beats Nashville we would move to 10th.

Ppl always looking for a conspiracy whenever the coach makes a questionable choice are just in denial. This has been happening all season. When lehner looks to have taken the reigns or deserves the shot, pmac always goes back to his vets. He is just too loyal to his vets, it's not just with the goalie. See use of phillips, Neil. It's not necessarily a bad thing but it is frustrating.

That said I am very disappointed to see Anderson start. Lehner has made changes to his game, publicly acknowledged he was moving around too much before the Tampa Bay game and has played very well since then. Oh and he looks like he gives a Dung and can play solid in goal. Anderson lost last week to the isles, why go back to him? Oh and let's not forget he allowed 7 goals on 19 shots!

Whatever, lehner just better play Saturday night vs the leafs, I'm done with Anderson allowing more goals to hated rivals

Again, no one knows wtf is going on outside of that organization and even then I question how many people actually have an idea in it.

Lehner got more games this year then he thought he would. He's a 22 year old backup.

That or they think that a goaler with a winning record is a better option if you want to win. What?!

(Insert "mind blown" gif here)

Colin Greening has proven to me that his absence or presence in the lineup is of no consequence. Sad but true.

Cowen still not skating. May as well shut him down and figure out what is wrong.

He seems injury prone.

We may be lucky that eight year offer wasn't accepted.

Or use the guy who stops more pucks on average?  Wait, that's weird.  Or the guy who hasn't quit on 2 teams... straaaaaaange times.

Really?  Why would you say that?  Oh he's injured every single year? lol

If they trade Wiercioch before Cowen I would be pretty upset as a fan.  This is just more development time Cowen is absent from and IMO this has cost him in terms of the potential he will reach one day.  Since his draft year (2008-09) he has missed about 2 years of development and continues to.  So many red flags with Cowen it's scary.

Could have said that back in November, too.

Didn't he play 82 games in his first season? Then he was injured in the AHL during the lockout. I'm not quite ready to slap an "injury prone" tag on him just yet. I still completely 100% disagree with the contract they gave him -- still think they should have played hard-ball and given him a 2-3 year bridge. But contract situation aside I'm not ready to bail on him in any way. He's missed two years of development so he really is closer to being a rookie than a 4th year player. Would love to see him put on 25 lbs of muscle, though, make him more like Gryba in build.
