Love is in the air.

Ottawa (35-23-4, 2nd in the Northeast and 5th in the Eastern Conference) visits the New York Islanders (25-28-8, last in the Atlantic and 12th in the East) early Sunday evening.

Saturday night the Sens' 2-game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings. No time to lick wounds or contemplate what went wrong. It's simple; Spezza scores and we win. Been like that for 15 games, now. Just kidding of course. Or am I?

Anyhow, sorry for the abbreviated GDT, I was a last-minute call-up.

So, Marakh was underwhelmed by the last GDT. Not sure if he meant my contribution or the rest of you. Regardless, this is the last one before the big break. Let's make it count. 10 pages. Minimum! Bring lots of hate for Lee, love for Alfie, debate Fisher's intangibles. Heck, maybe even comment on the fact that in the last 15 games, if Spezza doesn't score, we don't win.

Nice thread Rags... Smile

Unfortunately, since switching to Rogers (I F**kin HATE BELL right now) I couldn't catch last night's tilt vs the Red Wings, but I saw the score and figured just as well, although I'd like to see how Cullen is fitting in, etc...

No CI for me either, so perhaps I can catch it some other way, but I'm hoping this whole Spezza-doesn't-score-we-lose thing is just a strange coincidence.

People aren't really starting the cries of panic, are they!?!?

How far "East of Ottawa" are you? The game was on CBC-HD here.

I just mentioned Spezza so the Legion of Doom would come in here and drive the thread to it's former 15+ page glory.

By the way, congratulations to the women's team for setting a new record. 18-0 against Slovakia. I'm not sure what the record they set was, I was tpying up the GDT as my kid was watching Sportsnet in the background.

The first game for the men is in two days. Should we have GDTs for those? I think Marakh should do them for his crack at how underwhelming the last one was.

Oh yeah, GDT's for the men AND Women couldn't hurt I would think.

18-0! I had to look at the TV twice when I saw that! LOL UNREAL!!

18-0, that's not even fair.

Let's hope the boys actually show up tonight.

I take it the Sens took last night VS the Wings off? That's too bad.
I was all excited to see how Cullen meshed with his new team and all...

I still think the Sens could actually win 3rd in the East and snag a coveted Home Ice Advantage.

EDIT: Also, Lee had better be gone by the deadline... I'm SO sick of that over-rated punk! LOL

sens had zero rhythm yesterday. Maybe some of them were thinking of going to the olympics, or going on vacation. Cullen was shuffled around so much. Three new players in the lineup yesterday, so I'm hopin that was the cause of such disorientation. Let's hope Pascal comes up with a big game today....I'll go out on a limb and say his number 1 status depends on it.

Clouston: Elliott starts in goal; No lineup changes for tonight's game.

Easy win today, especially given the fact that we lost yesterday and the Isles won yesterday. Teams usually split games they play on back-to-back nights.

This one is gonna be a blowout.

okay, I just don't get this move at all. Pascal needs to start and its a perfect opportunity today. Besides, Elliott has started 13 in a row (and looks like 14 today).

Easy there. Last time someone proclaimed an easy win, we got blown out by Carolina and Atlanta.

It will literally be no contest. The Isles do not win 2 in a row, and we haven't lost 2 in a row in like a month and a half or something like that...
