Do we have a stud in the making?

yes even if his points weren't good

Question is... does he jump directly to the NHL next season.. or does he see a couple of months with Richardson (hopefully) in Bingo..

Sounds like Ottawa is part of a 3 way with Buf and StL

Halak, Stewart, a 1st, and a prospect to the Blues for Ott and Miller.

This team has crap for defense and Murray is still looking for that mythical forward who can play with Spezza, because ... even Bobby Ryan isn't good enough to play with Jason "too good for Hockey Canada" Spezza  Facepalm

I just don't see it.

Ottawa is missing a power forward as well... Stewart is a power forward. Is there a hole on the blueline? Absolutely but that doesn't mean you ignore the other need.

2015 1st rounder for Buffalo... Murray took the dream job for a GM in Buffalo, prospect heaven.

St.Louis is for sure going for it though and they didn't mortgage their future either. That's just a super solid hockey deal, only winners in that one.

He can't be that good if one of the best teams in the West deems him expendable. I can only hope he's not a Hitchcock-type guy.

I always read he's not really a power forward at all, everyone seems to think he is.

Back to back 28 goal seasons and was on pace for 30 last year. On top of that he hits, fights, drives the net, and is a brutha.

Just like Turris right? Just like Anderson? Jesus dude, you have to stop listening to people and watch some hockey.

Yah, Ottawa sure couldn't use a 25 goal guy up front who is a physical beast as well. Ottawa has never had a player like Stewart, ever.

Turris wasn't expendable, he wanted out and refused to sign with Phoenix. They'd have kept him if they could.

Anderson same deal, couldn't come to terms on a deal and he left the Avalanche out to dry like us this year.

Not saying Stewart sucks ... just that St. Louis think they can do without him although they are stacked on forwards unlike us.

Him and Hitchcock didn't like each other, simple as that. Stewart was the main piece in the Johnson deal not long ago and that was for the former 1st overall. Stewart is exactly the type of winger the Sens need, prototypical... there are question marks but this is a move I like a lot.

Would not be surprised to see Borowiecki traded to Buffalo in a deal for Stewart.
