What actually needs to happen is Michalek getting injured.
He's been really good lately though.
NEELY wrote:And yah da Costa is just a step too slow for the NHL. Not even close to strong enough either... pushed off the puck way too easily.

What about Cowen? I've seen him struggle now in two OT games in a row. Yet he keeps putting him out there 4-4.

Not crazy about that first goal. Thought Karlsson payed it too casually (or maybe not sure what to do) but if Andy just stands right up against the post that puck hits him and stays out. Karlsson would have had the pass to the trailer.
shabbs wrote:Poor Ceci got hosed on that tripping call in OT. Man. It was a TBay stick that did it.

Yeah, it was total BS. Cussing Denis Potvin saw it properly in real-time from the booth. If Denis Potvin is getting things right that the ref missed....you have problems. Thankfully the penalty didn't directly cost us the extra point, but it sure took away any chance of winning in OT. Just a brutal call.
You kinda knew we'd lose the shootout...Big Ben is pretty good at those.

NEELY wrote:Cowen has been hit and miss for sure. A young D man trying to find consistency in his game shouldn't be a shock to anyone. Remember he's 22... has 4 or 5 years before he starts to hit his peak. People are way too impatient with young players.
The one guy that should be sitting based on his play is Phillips. Fact is there are too many D men in Ottawa right now and they need to make a move. Ceci doing what he is doing threw a lot of people for a loop and created a (good) problem in Ottawa.

Cowen was a beast last night. So solid. Yeah he was a bit shaky in OT but whatever, that's the end of the game and 4 on 4.
They are taking their time with him and it's paying off immensely. He's going to be a dominant defenseman.

I understand what you are saying, and I agree with some of it. But he wasn't a "beast" last night, and he wasn't "a bit shaky" in OT; he was pretty brutal.
