If Michalek can start finishing, that would help so much. Eventually a callup will have to score consistently until we get Stone back or make a trade, it can't always be on the Turris line or zbad or Spezza.

I understand what you are saying, and I agree with some of it.  But he wasn't a "beast" last night, and he wasn't "a bit shaky" in OT; he was pretty brutal.

No he was not. He actually created offense and was leading the rush, to try to win the game.

Last night was one of his best games of the season and he is a big reason Karlsson is able to venture all over the ice.

You say toh-may-toh, I say he-struggled-in-OT.

My Hypothesis exactly!

Cowen had some great shifts last night, in terms of positioning and decision making. The only bad things he did was not being fast enough.

Yeah, I keep noticing this every now and then. He battles but struggles. That will come in time as he learns. He's gotta use his size more.

He's not taking as many penalties from losing those battles lately so that's an improvement.

He's also playing over 25 mins a night so give him some slack. The hate Cowen gets on twitter is a testament on this fanbases' lack of knowledge and perspective. The same fans who think Spezza is still a top 10 center in the NHL, or that the Sens should be a top 4 team in the East while playing with 3 guys under 100 NHL games + a top pairing under 24 years of age each.

How can anyone be hating on Cowen at this point? The guy has completely turned his season around - like...completely.
