2.Edmonton makes that trade I think.  Lazar + Methot for Eberle is a nice package.

Edm does that yesterday. I would let the chips falls where they might with Lazar straight up for Eberle at this point which isn't to say I wouldn't take Eberle because I am a huge fan but Lazar might be something special and the type of player they have been missing for a long time.

I think Lazar's a major sticking point. I'd tell them to pick another prospect not named Zibanejad. Even if it's two guys - like Stone and Puempel, then I'd still do it.

Lazar is a huge part of the Sens going forward - and I'd bet he'll be a major sticking point when we actually get serious about trading players.

If you can get Eberle without giving up Lazar, you do the Methot + Puempel + Stone deal IMO.

Would take Lazar over Eberle. I know I might sound crazy.

It's only crazy because Lazar is still an unknown in terms of what he'll do at the NHL level.

Love Eberle and I am the same. Lazar has a chance to be just as good as Eberle with some intangibles to go with it. It would be a risk for the Sens to do it if it was a straight up trade offer but you let Lazar develop and see. Might not work out but I am of the opinion it will.

I know NEELY doesn't put any stock into it, but he was one of the leaders on a team that finished out of the medals. I've very hopeful of what he might become one day, but how do you not take a proven player over hope?

Because I think this team desperately needs a Dustin Brown/Ryan Callahan and I think he's the guy.

If Eberle was already that style of player I wouldn't be taking Lazar over him.

You know what Eberle is vs what Lazar might be and what the Sens need. Your opinion or choice might be wrong at the end of the day but what's the downside to keeping Lazar vs the downside of trading for Eberle? Lots of pro's and con's but IMO the choice to not move Lazar for Eberle has more pro's than con's.

Exactly. Need a guy who can score and crash. If Noesen was still in the system you might part with Lazar but that's why they did move Noesen in the Ryan deal... they love Lazar.

Finally a mock trade thread! My proposal:

Methot + Puempel + 3rd for Ryan O-reilly.  Would either team do it????

that's 6.5 + is a big sticking point IMO. Colorado might want to keep him anyways. I think they wait and see how well he performs in the playoffs before making that move.

I would do that from an Ottawa perspective. Not sure about Patty Roy and the Avalanche (a good band name, if I ever heard one).

Any updates/news/predictions regarding the game? Who's in/out? Who's hot/cold? Do I have to go read the various Game Day previews?
