You have to think they're trying to pry Eberle out of Edmonton, but I would assume Edmonton wants Lazar + Methot. I have a hard time believing it's because it's a 'winning lineup'.

non-sense. they aren't trading Lazar and Edm wouldn't do that trade either.

On another note, there's another team we're chasing who's about to fall out of the race - the Montreal Canadiens. Once again, proof that last year was a slight fluke and that they go as Price goes.

2.Edmonton makes that trade I think. Lazar + Methot for Eberle is a nice package.

At the end of next year. Edmonton would have time to negotiate with him.

Methot is a free agent after next season.

Precisely. As I said in the case of Spezza and Ryan, they play to the end of their deals and walk for nothing. Mainly due to the budget.

Edm does that yesterday. I would let the chips falls where they might with Lazar straight up for Eberle at this point which isn't to say I wouldn't take Eberle because I am a huge fan but Lazar might be something special and the type of player they have been missing for a long time.

I think Lazar's a major sticking point. I'd tell them to pick another prospect not named Zibanejad. Even if it's two guys - like Stone and Puempel, then I'd still do it.

Lazar is a huge part of the Sens going forward - and I'd bet he'll be a major sticking point when we actually get serious about trading players.

If you can get Eberle without giving up Lazar, you do the Methot + Puempel + Stone deal IMO.

Would take Lazar over Eberle. I know I might sound crazy.
