A semi serious comment. A single zamboni means you save one salary, give away half as many tickets/jerseys to kids riding zamboni, and have less time for stupid intermission "entertainment", which means people have more time for concessions.tim1_2 wrote:Have you guys been to a game this year at the CTC? Hilarious to see the squeegee kids come out with hoses between periods to flood the rink.SeawaySensFan wrote:The Gene has instructed his accountant to put shabbs under "Zamboni repairs." Which explains the broken Zamboni.wprager wrote:No-one has mentioned the rather poor effort shabbs did on the GDT. Two words? How much are we paying him, anyway? Can't find him on capgeek.
With his albatross contract, we'll have to take a pile back in unwanted salary. Might be able to trade him for Heatley.wprager wrote:So we're all in agreement - dump Karlsson?
Yep. A righty too please. Wideman maybe, the kid has registered 7 points in 9 games so far I think, might be worth a shot. Him or Ceci.LeKing wrote:He would hustle harder if he didn't need to play 30 mins a night because our other 5 defensemen can't create Dung offensively 5 on 5.
Which comes back to my initial point, needs a mobile top 4 defenseman who can handle the puck.
Like the wind was not the word I wanted to use but more like good skaters. JVR, Kadri, Bozak are good skaters.Ev wrote:Toronto's players skate like the wind? Who besides Kessel and Raymond?
It was a tough opening stretch, but we did let a couple games get away from us. That said, you know T-Bay and Toronto will come back to the pack a bit, so we're still right in the thick of it after having survived a nightmare opening month. Toronto's schedule toughens up considerably starting in December. Assuming we can get our game on track, we should be fine.SpezDispenser wrote:
As I've said, I firmly believe our season starts on Friday.
Still think there is some serious jam missing up front but that's just me. Ev talked about Ott but another guy who would actually look pretty good in Ottawa would be the other Kassian... this is about the time in a power forwards career that they start to figure it out, well within the next couple years. You look at Downie as a nice example, Bertuzzi back in the day, Neely, etc, etc. Around 23, 24 things click and if they Canucks get impatient at that point if he isn't putting up 25 goals a year that's when a team like the Sens should go after him but it won't be this year.tim1_2 wrote:It was a tough opening stretch, but we did let a couple games get away from us. Sounds like a plan.tim1_2 wrote:The nice thing about getting Zack Kassian would be we could send Matt Kassian back the other way, force Zack to take the same #, and save The Euge some $$$ on jerseys!
This crazy whackjob wasn't actually far off.tim1_2 wrote:I actually think Condra's been pretty normal lately, complete with total inability to generate anything resembling offense.
I suggest new lines:
Conacher-Spezza-ZBad
Greening-Turris-Ryan
MacArthur-Grant-Condra
Michalek-Smith-Neil
Is no one going to pump my tires for almost calling the total lineup shuffle? C'mon! I thought it was cool to bring up when you made at least partially correct predictions!!!!!!!tim1_2 wrote:This crazy whackjob wasn't actually far off.tim1_2 wrote:I actually think Condra's been pretty normal lately, complete with total inability to generate anything resembling offense.

Agreed. But while what you say is true I would say that any line that has the Spezzer playing on it is #1. No ifs ands or buts.tim1_2 wrote:So your issue is with the way I ordered my lines, and your assumption that you know which line is considered #1?
I have a feeling P-Mac pretty much intends to roll the new lines and spread out the 5-on-5 ice time.
