so the new Nexus 10 is coming out? Will it still be made by Samsung?

No one is telling for sure. Samsung is the expected one but there's also a rumour that they were thinking of switching to Asus (who did the Nexus 7s). They had some promos that hinted at the 28th (presumably October) but as that's gone by the boards, who knows. Maybe they switched from Samsung to Asus and that delayed things?xzel wrote:so the new Nexus 10 is coming out? Will it still be made by Samsung?
Article goes on to say that it could be launched as early as tomorrow.Acquired by a PhoneArena reader, the specs sheet listed a 10.1-inch 10.1-inch WQXGA Full 2560 x 1600p HD resolution display with a 300ppi image density.
This high-resolution screen is exactly the same spec as the first generation Nexus 10, but is now protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 rather than Gorilla Glass 2.
Interestingly, the Nexus 10 listing showed that the next-gen edition of the tablet will use a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM, the same as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
Previously, Google’s 10-inch slate packed a dual-core Samsung Exynos 5 processor with 2GB of RAM. The fact that Google isn’t opting for a Samsung chip suggests the search engine giant may well be using another manufacturer to produce the Nexus 10 altogether.

I like the 7". Of course I haven't tried the iPad mini (it's also 7" but the 4x3 aspect ratio versus 16x9 is a big form-factor difference). I feel the girls' 8" tablets are a bit bulky, so I like the 7". Now, it's not a 10" so don't expect that, but if I flip it to landscape to read web pages it's just like a 10" in portrait, except I have to scroll more vertically. Not a big fan of the on-screen keyboard (it's better than my BB but nowhere near as good as the full keyboard on my laptop); when the case with the blue-tooth keyboard arrives I'll see if that makes a big difference.Ev wrote:Is it too smalll or just right?
Hmm, not sure there. Probably the Civic, actually. Don't have any issues with the Nexus' quality. The LCD panel is *very* nice. It's not just the pixel density.Ev wrote:Sure but you pay for quality. Would you rather buy a Honda Civic or a Mercedes?
That's probably the best approach. You can always buy it and return it (after all, I got mine open-box and saved another 10%). Mind you, at the time that was the only one I could find in all the FS/BB stores in Ottawa.Ev wrote:I'll try it out today at Best BUy
I don't doubt it, but the 2 suits us just fine. My wife mainly uses it for Facebook/Internet Surfing/Email/Netflix, and it performs great. It will be replaced when it dies.Ev wrote:Man you gotta see the Air. It blows the iPad 2 out of the water.
