There's been approximately zero legit media reports of the Sens being interested in Briere. When he doesn't land here, it'll make a couple people around these parts look a little silly...not that that hasn't happened before!

Any kind of UFA up front, any at all at this point and I would be surprised. Short of the Sens going out and getting Ryder for say 2 mil a season on a 3 year deal, don't think it's gonna happen for the people in Ottawa. Need 1 more D man for sure though.

I don't think they need up-front help to make the playoffs. They went from 8th and losing in 7, to 7th and winning in the first round. And that was with a lineup held together with bubblegum and popsicle sticks for most of the year. I think they push for home ice advantage this year, and that's with the lineup we have now. That said, they sure could use a little help in the playoffs. So why not let some other team pay 2/3 of the guy's salary? I'm sure there are going to be quality rentals (not Lapointe) available, and we have the currency to pay for them.

Spoken in Prags' typically thrifty manner, I agree with the man.

Latest is he's looking for just 1 year.
Daniel Briere is looking at a two year contract... The Buffalo Sabres are out.

Absolutely the Sabres are out. He wants to contend, not be part of a rebuild. If what he said was true about location not being a factor, NJ should be out too.
Montreal maybe, Nashville maybe. Ottawa, yes. Come on.
I believe the final 3 on Daniel Briere are the Devils, Predators and Habs

Thank goodness it's Lebrun who doesn't know his arse from his elbow.
That said...the Sens said they wanted a big winger who can bully his way to the front of the net and score. Size and speed.
Does that not sound like Ryan Clowe?
