The Senators are a poorly run business, whose success on the ice is only thanks to a really good GM making the best of a bad situation.

You don't get rich by owning an NHL team, you own an NHL team because you're rich.

I hope you leave too, so you can then realize that Ottawa is actually a pretty sweet city to live in, all things considered. The grass is NOT greener.

Like I said in other threads if the cap goes up, they need to raise ticket prices to keep up, where are they supposed to find the money to spend to an ever increasing cap? There are limits before the team takes losses.
Is Eugene just supposed to bleed money every year and spend to the cap because the fans say so but they are unable or unwilling to pay more than below NHL average ticket prices?

This, I must say, is absolutely true. Ottawa fan is even cheaper than The Gene.

Ticket prices are set at what the market can bear. I am sure someone smarter than me did the research and made a decision based on that.
We're not Toronto or Montreal so we can't charge an arm and a leg here.

He's also subtly (or not so subtly) telling the city that you should build a casino on his land through that message. Just raise the damn ticket price already

No one is suggesting charging an arm and a leg. But nearly 20 bucks less than the league average is silly.

So sick of Melnyk and if he wants to use the Sens as leverage he can go right ahead, city won't budge because the Sens are not going anywhere.

Of course he is, he's a businessman, he didn't buy the Sens to lose money.
If he is making money on the Sens he'd make more money with a casino and if him and the team are struggling well then they really do need it.
I think they can only raise the prices so much, they haven't even sold out all their season tickets last I heard.
After having grown up in ottawa and every time I come back to visit, I beg to differ. Maybe ottawa isn't Sudbury or Winnipeg but it sure ain't a bustling metropolis either. I don't think I'll ever be able to live in ottawa again. It's just lacking in being able to attract the kind of things I've come to expect from life in the big city. But don't get me wrong, I'll always love my sens and it pains me great to not be able to attend more games.tim1_2 wrote:Ev wrote:I hope the team moves so I can move with them.
