But to be honest.. I saw that comment in a Citizen article.. that they have since taken off their website for some reason... as I can't find it anymore.

Murray also said he was astonished by all the angst in Ottawa about the time it has taken to sign Alfie..  Well what did he expect with the Toronto media putting us in a frenzy.

Also, I find it strange that Clarkson can spend an entire day in Ottawa and not one member of the Ottawa media knew about it..  Also he is a CLOSE FRIEND of Spezza.  So Spezz... do you magic... you two would be great together.  

BTW.. rumours are the Leafs offered Clarkson a 7 yr -- $5.2M contract.  Toronto has more financial backing BUT not as much cap space as Ottawa...

Not that I expect him to sign in Ottawa... but wouldn't it be awesome to take him away from the Leafs.  

Would be the best thing of the summer... well second best after signing Alfie.

Oh and Eklund (yeah I know) states the Sens are going after Evander Kane..

Clarkson might just be using us to get other teams to up their bids.  Nonis might be Dung bricks at the thought of us landing him.

Yeah, who's to say he didn't approach 10 other teams? Edmonton not a desirable market but they have cap room and he's looking for a contract. Ottawa too. I'm not convinced Murray is ready to take a risk on Clarkson. He's gonna get paid and paid a lot by whoever signs him.

Though I would love to see him in a Sens uniform at a reasonable price.

Clarkson won't get that much more, if anything more, than Vinny

While I understand stats don't capture intangibles, Clarkson is at best a 0.4 ppg player and Ottawa needs to improve their top six, not to mention they have a lot of depth at the right wing position.
