I never thought he'd gave the guts to do a ballsy risky move.
Cussing fun stuff, wasn't it? Months of us talking about a move like this and he does it. This is what happens when you can draft well.

Yeah, actually not even a top 2, a 2nd pairing, right hander with a great PP resume. Boyle, Bogosian, someone like that (ha ha) would put the Sens up to 'near' contender status - if not contender.
I think with Ryan and Anderson (if he plays like he did in the regular season) we are a contender already.
I don't really know about that to be honest. Boston is a contender, Chicago, LA - the usual suspects. We're in the stratosphere, but I'm not sure Bobby Ryan put us into that realm yet. Boyle might, but we're another year away from being the 'real' contender IMO. The kids have to mature a little more etc.

Adding Ryan and MacArthur gets us a lot closer. Throw in a top 4 D and we're right in the mix IMO

Goaltending is awesome, defense is about as solid as you can ask, up front they have a ton of depth, goal scoring, play making, and grit. Ottawa is going to be tough to beat and last season only helped guys like Zibanejad, Pageau, Karlsson, and Cowen.
Next year is going to be a great year in Ottawa and it will start with them winning the division... calling it now if they add the right D man.

I think they need to go into next year capitalizing on this decision by Alfie by making their marketing campaign a "revenge" theme so to speak. Infer that we want to make Alfie regret his choice big time. Diddle the Pesky Sens, Diddle the us against the world, it's time to get down to business.

Sorry but I just can't blame Melnyk for Alfredsson bailing on his team. He wanted "a chance at the Cup".
I'm not overlooking his past. But that's in the past. The present is one in which Alfie is on a division rival, and we need to make his life a living hell when he plays us.
