The amount of money that Melnyk loses on jersey sales, fan attendance, and fan support - not to mention that NO ONE will give a dung about his letter re: Casino anymore.

It's no wonder this guy is one bad investment away from bankruptcy. This Alfie move is going to cost him more than just $6M a season - it may cost him all little credibility he had left as an owner and businessman.

Boy...how long until Alfie wakes up one morning and realizes what he just did? 2 days? 1 week? It'll be soon. He left his family here to go to a decent team with little to no chance of winning a Cup. Big mistake.

Even worse, Kris Russell goes to Calgary. Not sure if anyone mentioned that he would have been a good fit in Ottawa.

Ottawa is rebuilding on a tight budget, maybe he is tired of babysitting prospects.

Probably around the trade deadline when they desperately try to add to their mediocre lineup.

If I was Alfie and they said "budget" to me, I would walk too. He gave up too much cash over the course of his career for that bull shlt. Melynk can go to hell officially now, hope he loses every cent he has and decides to share needles with Magic Johnson.

Iginla fixes nothing here, and possibly makes things worse.

But that path won't reach the Cup until he has retired most likely.  And the team isn't doing anything to speed it along(which might not be smart).

And if Melnyk is too cheap and/or broke it may never get there. He saw it when Bryden owned the team.
