Sooo what are the chances Michalek is re-upped with the sens?  He's earning $6M this season (cap hit $4.33M), and considering Spezza + Ryan will need contracts combined with his overall health, I'm going to say the chances are slim to none.

I could see him getting a 4 mil contract times 3 or 4 years. Nice 2nd liner. When healthy.

Clarkson got $5.25, and Horton got $5.3, not a chance. If we don't give him that, someone else will.

Plus if that radical knee treatment he got in Germany is successful, we might see him return to health and form and score 30+ again.

Then he might be worth 5 plus mil.

Considering what we've gotten out of Michalek the last 4 years,  he's serviceable for half his contract. 35 goals 2 seasons ago with a healthy Spezza was likely as good as it gets but I doubt he'd want a paycut.

So the question is whether sens consider bringing him back or letting him walk to make way for some salary for pending ufas and spot open for puempel, lazar.

We will most likely have to if we want any chance to retain Ryan and/or Spezza.

Or trade him. But we can't do that now if he's still injured. You never know, maybe him + Wiercioch/Puempel + pick bags you a chance at Bogosian. I keep mentioning Bogo because I think that's one of the final pieces to make this team a beautifully running machine of winning.
