If you meant Marc Staal for Skinner - I agree.

I meant try and bring J staal and Letang together.

Skinner could be the piece with Jamie Mc going the other way.

I suppose that could work, but I still think if Marc Staal passes physicals, he'll be a member of the Canes sooner rather than later.

We're going to start seeing a lot of this speculation turn into reality in a matter of days!!! Ahhhhh!Ahhhhh!

Draft Bonanza followed by Free Agent Frenzy.  Yum.

Better than sausage gravy.

What if he comes in a package with the 7th overall pick?

I would even take Horcoff if the 7th overall comes with him.
Yeah, no problem. Smile

According to Bob McKenzie, David Perron and Kevin "The Shatt" Shattenkirk are candidates to be dealt. Any takers?

Has Perron been healthy lately? He would be one of the most skilled players on our roster.

Sens should be all over Perron, that's a guy who could end up with 70-80 points if he can find a way to stay healthy. Shattenkirk is a guy that would fit in as well but probably not at the top of the list.

Played every game this season. An enthusiastic "Oui!" for me.

Cheese and rice. I'll take both of those guys very, very happily. I bet the price on each one is quite high though.

Shattenkirk will cost a leg so pass.
Perron on the other hand could be had for a swap with one of our forwards + prospect.

Boy....talk about two guys we could use on our roster. Although Perron's a righty again.

I'd be all over either/both. Perron is a guy you could consider moving your first for. And Shattenkirk is especially interesting, I'd say -- an offensive RHS. Pair him with Cowen, and you've got your top 4 set for, oh, 5+ years:

Methot - Karlsson
Cowen - Shattenkirk

He's an RFA, tho'... And the only reason STL has to move either guy is salary concerns. Perron is making $3.8 mil for the next 3 years, and as an RFA Shattenkirk is looking at at least a 2-year deal at north of $4 mil. But they're a budget team, too, and they've got lots of names to make decisions on... Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, Stewart, and Russell. You have to figure that Pietrangelo alone is going to cost $5-6 mil. Something has to give in STL, unless they're going to spend to the cap for the first time in a long time.

They just resigned Perron not long ago. He's not very big and I'm always wary of players with a concussion history. He's never put up more than 50 points in a season.

If they deal Shattenkirk it's because he is too expensive for them.

If you pass up a guy with that kind of talent because of his handedness or sidedness or whatever the Diddle you should be shot, then fired.

It's about money for St. Louis, according to Bob McKenzie, for sure.

Laugh1 I wouldn't say Perron is the be all to end all, but yes, don't pass because of handedness. Plus, they'll want a major piece back from us anyway.

Perron's salary also increases. The fact he can put up the points he does in St.Louis means it will translate to better numbers on a more offensive team. He played every game this year and seems to have left his concussion concerns at the door for the most part. RH or not, he's EXACTLY the type of player that the Sens need right now and fits into the youth and the lack of scoring of the team. If Perron is actually available... they have the pieces to make a move for him for sure.

That's just a move that makes sense, simple as that.
