Penner is getting to the point where his conditioning and commitment will cost him salary and years in the NHL. When you are 20 something and you are able to recover quicker, skate faster, and the bumps and bruisers have piled up, yah, you get away with that. Now? Not to much.

Maybe if the Sens were in an extended playoff run and they needed some depth going in, you make a move for Penner then. Giving him years and dollars on a contract though? Not the best idea.

I agree with that all. Was thinking a 1-year deal. Fits Murray's M.O. to be quite honest (konopka, latendresse).

If Bickell becomes a consistent 20 goal scorer, while continuing to throw his weight around and playing with an edge, and a propensity to go into #beastmode in the playoffs, then I don't mind paying him $4M - $5M per season.

But yeah, it's an overpayment, and teams should really be cautious of this with the cap coming down again.

Tough to get any UFA to sign a 1 years deal, almost impossible, especially one who is 30 years old. He could get that from the Kings.

Yeah, Penner will have options, most of them being longer than one year.

More like plan L in my eyes. I'd rather run with the current lineup than bring in MacArthur.

I really want to sign that Swedish D-man that Sandy was talking about. Frodo or something, can't recall. Friggin massive, good offensive numbers. Want.

Me neither, but his stats and weight/height are impressive.

There's a reason why you haven't heard of the guy yet... he's probably not all that great by NHL/NA standards. Yah, once in a while you get a guy who comes out of no where that hasn't been drafted but it's rare and even more rare in Europe.

Anyone who played in Detroit and is endorsed by PMac would vault to the top of my wish list.

WTF is this about Cowen for the 7th overall? Unless Murray is planning on swinging something like the 7th and 17th for a top 3 or 4 spot there isn't a chance in hell I would do that.

Yeah, don't bring all that Dung here. If we want to read HFBoards, we'll lobotomize ourselves and head over there.
