No way in hell I'd ever want to see Cowen AND a prospect AND a 1st rounder given up for Eberle!!!!!! Crazy talk.

I think Wiercioch, 1st, prospect for Eberle might make sense too.
I think you start with Cowen for Eberle and add. And I'm right on board with doing that. Cowen + top prospect + 1st for Eberle = win for the Sens - and again, I'm a huge Cowen fan, but Eberle is a very special player.
Eberle isn't special, he was the luckiest player in the league last year. Regressed hard this year.
Cowen + 1st + top prospect for Eberle is a joke.

Huh....obviously I value Eberle way higher than people on here. Fair enough, I have no real basis for making the argument except I love his style of play and I love his skill level. For a young man, the sky is still the absolute limit. He can destroy it when he shakes this funk.

Agreed, but I think Wiercioch is more expendable because of Karlsson and potentially Ceci, and Phillips will be seeing a reduced role or retire in a few years. I think Cowen will bring just as much offense as Wiercioch down the road and feel he is really underrated there. He showed what he could do when Karlsson was out last year. IMO Cowen will be their best d-man overall down the road.
Yeah, exactly this. Left side log jam or not, Cowen and Methot are the big players going forward. Wiercioch is a nice player, but if you ask me which one I'd take, it'd be Cowen all day every day. Phillips is a guy who might have to play the right side a lot more than he'd normally when all is said and done.

No interest from Ottawa I guess

Value might be there now, long term Cowen will be the more dominate player. Eberle is fantastic for sure but he will never have what Cowen does and that's an edge, size, a big time pressance.

One may be better than the other, but then you're down a 6'5 stud dman (hasn't even reached his peak yet), and if you guys haven't noticed, our team seems to be getting smaller with conacher and JGP (and turris).
BIG ****** NO TO TRADING COWEN!

Yep. Remember Yashin for Chara? How did that work out for the Islanders, eh?

If any team offers a young potential top 6 Bruiser I'd do it in a heartbeat, because Montreal and Toronto don't have that kind of player.
Certainly if the offer is right, you look at it, but IMO you don't rush to make any kind of move back there.
