He had a great big stye in his eye until after the Christmas break. Ignoring his first game back after the layoff (he was yanked) his save percentage the rest of the way was .934 in the regular season (rounded up from 93.7) and .933 in the payoffs.

Yeah, he's an upper echelon goalie. He just needs to get back into game shape. We all knew he'd be rusty coming back - and he has been. If we make the playoffs, all bets will be off on how he'll perform. I would say very, very well.

They may just want to play him on the PP and have very limited minutes in general to see how he looks before giving him more in his 2nd game. No idea. We'll find out soon enough I guess. If he's ready, put him in.

Agreed. If he still needs that level of sheltering, he probably isn't ready. If he can play, he can play.

I think Ian forgot a few things. At first I thought he meant if there was a regulation win tonight by one of the teams. But even that doesn't work out as I pointed out.

Our magic number against the Jets is 4, and 6 against Washington. The Thursday game against Washington gives us an opportunity for getting 4 of the 6 points against Washington. So if they lose tonight in regulation we can guarantee a tie, but that does not clinch because they would have 22 ROWs and Ottawa would still have only 20.
