I would have to see a list of all the potential Team Canada d-men, but I could easily see Methot on the team. I doubt he makes it, as he seems to fly under the radar a little bit...but I certainly don't think he'd be out of place there. He also does a pretty good job of staying out of the box, despite playing hard...and this would be valuable given the officiating they get for international play.

Depends on who the coach/GM are. Phaneuf is the Captain on his team, his stats are pretty good, and the team is surprising most people. He's in the top-four (for Canada) in points, hits and TOI.

I just think Phaneuf is terrible in the room and no one likes him. Kind of the opposite of Methot. Anyway, I'm sure he'll be on the team since he has "international experience" which is something they apparently value.

Whose the GM of the team gonna be? Or do we not know yet. It'll depend on the GM, but I could see Methot coming as a shutdown guy or even a number 7 guy.

So i was reading along in the rumors and prediction blogs online and there seems to be a little talk that the sens should go after Clarkson. He would be an interesting piece to add I thin but i'm not a fan of that dive he pulled the other day. That's just not the type of stuff I want my team doing. still the guy could play on the right of spezza. 9mm, spezza and clark could be dangerous.

Mendes: Neither Spezza/Karlsson skated today. Karlsson had a scheduled day off; Spezza did an off-ice workout in the gym - which is a good sign.

unfortunately clark hits the FA someone will offer 6 most probably. it's thin out there. Elias at 38 next year? that man will be on the decline sooner rather then later.

LOL, Neil takes lots of exaggerate dives...you pretty much do whatever you can to help your team, and, unfortunately, diving is a part of it. This is where the NHL needs to step in and start fining/suspending guys for diving.

Anyway, as for Clarkson, I'd be all for seeing him in a Sens jersey, but probably not at the price tag it'll take to land him. You're likely talking $6M a season, and I'm not sure he's worth that....

Briere to ottawa.... Ok but has Turris ever successfully played the wing? It would be great to have Briere especially with Spezza always being a hit away from the IR. but I'm not sure i want turris to be relegated to the 3rd and then by extension zib goes where. we're looking to have a ridiculously good 3rd line next year.
