Briere to ottawa.... Ok but has Turris ever successfully played the wing? It would be great to have Briere especially with Spezza always being a hit away from the IR. but I'm not sure i want turris to be relegated to the 3rd and then by extension zib goes where. we're looking to have a ridiculously good 3rd line next year.

Briere plays a good wing. I think he'd be all but perfect here to be honest. But yes, injuries are a big concern.

EDIT: You don't need to sell me on Iginla. He'd also be perfect here - or more perfect even.

oh well then if Briere is good on the wing then we're laughing. sure he might be an injury concern but that's a risk i would take. Briere/turris alfie would be a sweet second line.
I think just the fact that we have 3 2nd line C(4 even if you're willing to consider Z) gives us an edge in terms of possible injuries.
it's been a downfall for us this year i hope BM addresses it.
unfortunately i don't think we'll make a pitch at both Briere and Iggy. what's ball park for Briere? i think 2 years at 4.5? he might want 3.
iggy will probably get another 7 to 8 mill, have no clue of terms.

Not sure Latendresse is gone but you know for sure Regin is and maybe even O'Brien. If they can move him for a 5th or a 6th rounder I am sure they will. Sadly he was beaten out of a spot by Matt Kassian.

I really can't get my head around this. The guy was playing really well, he's good on the PK and hell, he can even score. then mac takes him out. wtf happened? I would preffer we hold on to him.

Oh, I'm not sure if he's here to stay for the long haul but if so Briere would be a good mentor for him, and he could possibly live with him and his sons like Sean Couturier did. Both Gatineau boys.

I don't think he was beaten out of anything. I simply think MacLean doesn't like O'Brien for one reason or another.

I guess Latendresse's future is in doubt too. You normally don't see a coach healthy scratch a guy like Latendresse, then see the two sides come to an agreement on a contract extension. I'd be a little surprised at this point if Mac and Murray all of a sudden want to keep him.

Which is a shame, because I think we all liked what Latendresse brings to the table - especially playing with Z-Bad and Silfverberg. I thought he was a slam dunk to at least explore contract talks, but again, a healthy scratch followed by a contract extension?...not often. Penner was the last one I can think of.

There's still a few games and the playoffs remaining for Latendresse to earn a new deal. It will have to be cheap, though, because, um, you know.

yeah I get that he's fallen out of favor but why? I mean Regin gets priority over him and we've all seen that regin shouldn't figure in the org future plans.

tender is a little slow but i think if he's willing to sign on the cheap for a couple of years then he's worth it. he's managed to stay healthy since being back. it's not like FA are dying to sign with us.

I dunno anymore to be honest. Maybe he feels that a guy like Zibanejad can easily do O'Brien's job, so why bother dressing O'Brien? Regin's done for Mac I think, so he's out of the equation.

I guess Mac will alternate Pageau and O'Brien for back to back nights. That would be my guess from here on in.

Ottawa and Boston will make up Monday's postponed game at 7 p.m. April 28.
