I think that's already happened.

The "reasons" you list like "he would have been this without Karlsson" or "he would have been that if not for the players around him"... it's BS because there is no proof or any real concrete facts behind it. Guesses on your part.
Also if you want proof that Karlsson carried him compare this year to last year, one off season does not account for this drop off:
2012-13
Florida
Games: 27
Goals: 1
Assists: 3
Points: 4
Plus/Minus: -11
2011-12
Ottawa
Games: 73
Goals: 6
Assists: 26
Points: 32
Plus/Minus: 26
I think Karlsson's numbers last year would have been even better without that friggin' anchor playing beside him.

Money is a concern and they need goaltending help in a big way. I would bet Florida would move Fleischmann if Bishop was involved. Could even be something like Bishop and Hoffman for Fleischmann.
I refuse to believe they go into next season with Markstrom and Clemenson as their 1A 1B.
Florida is betting the farm on Markstrom you bet they are.NEELY wrote:A deal for Stewart you start with Cowen and a 1st... then add Greening. That probably lands him if St.Louis decides they don't want to use the 34 million in cap space they have next year, lol.
St. Louis has a bunch of RFAs to sign and they do not have a lot of money there, they forced John Davidson out due to his big contract.
Shattenkirk and Pietrangelo will not be cheap.
They need an LHD badly as well.

If that was it for Fleish, I would pull the trigger right away. Sadly, I think it'll be a 1st round pick - which, coming from a contender is 18-30. That's about fair value IMO and something I doubt we want to give up.
Neat option though. Intriguing to say the least, he's a decent play maker as well as having good shooting instincts. Might be a target.

Again, Florida needs a goaltender in a big way to play behind a very young team that will be making tons of mistakes. Markstrom is not close to being a #1 NHLer... he could be part of a 1A/1B type scenario but thats it.
Florida wants to offload some money and Bishop is absolutely a player they could use and probably need. A trade based around Fleischmann and Bishop would very much work for both teams.

They already have Clemmensen under contract for 1 year.
Going with 2 prospect goalies is beyond silly, they will go with Markstrom/Clemmensen just watch.
Nobody wants Bishop, he's been on the market all season. I bet Murray gets more calls on Lehner.

Anyways, if the cap was not so low in 2008, we would probably have added Dan Boyle which would have helped a big time. I don't remember how many times I read/heard "we need a PMD" during those times. Probably close to a 1000 times.

Clemenson will be bought out. His GAA is above 4, that's bad for the 80's. There is no way they run with those 2 next year, no chance.
Bishop isn't a prospect goaltender at this point either, he's on a 1 way deal and is already a legit NHL goaltender.
Also, who said no one wants him? What's that based on? A market when 90% of the teams believe they have a shot at the playoffs and won't do anything until the offseason in terms of making a move? It amazes me how sometimes people around here just decide to make things up like "nobody wants Bishop".
