Hopefully he can come back and add a little depth as well. Sens are starting to get too many bodies on the roster though and by the sounds of it DD isn't going anywhere anytime soon... guys on 1 ways are getting bumped for him.

I really want Latendresse back. He and Michalek are actual NHLers with experience. This is NO disrespect to Stone and Silf and guys like that, but these kids will have their ups and downs, especially with enormous pressures on them. If Michalek and Latendresse come in and don't produce, it still helps them by taking some of the pressure off them.

Dirty goals are what win hockey games and Michalek and Latendresse both score their goals about 5 feet and in from the the crease... mix that with the fact you have a ton of guys like Silfverberg, Alfi, Turris, and Zibanejad who like to shoot, it's what they need.

This would also get Alfi to take one more kick at the can and you can bet season tickets take a serious leap.

You add Boyle and Perry to the current (healthy) roster and they are the favorites in the East.

That's assuming SJ actually wants to trade him. I'm sure there is other options out there they have a list of.

We made a run for Nash last year which I think was more of a message being sent as well (don't think anyone thought he would go elsewhere but NY).

And we've got a long way to go before we are favorites over Boston in the East.

They may be forced to... 53 mil with 12 players signed going into next year, that's a huge issue. He has a limited NTC as well where he can give a list of 8 teams he doesn't want to be traded to as well.

Landing Boyle would be enormous, I have to agree. He can help offset the loss of Karlsson this year, and then you can slot him into Gonchar's place next year and away you go.

Methot - Karlsson
Cowen - Boyle
Philips - Gryba
(Boro, Wiercioch, etc.)

Would be an INSANELY strong D. If the opportunity is there, I hope we go for it, even if it means losing Wiercioch, who I really like. We have the prospects / picks / extra pieces to make this happen pretty easily, I'd say, if SJ is looking to deal him, if OTT is willing to take on Boyle, and if Boyle is willing to come here. Lots of "ifs", admittedly.

I don't think there is a chance Boyle is trading within this season nor a lot of other players that may be moved because of cap issues but at the draft or just before it Murray should be making a move to shoreup the back end.

Boyle has waived to come to Ottawa before but Murray didn't want to trade for him at the time... he couldn't really so that's one "if" down. I would assume Weircioch would be going the other way for sure if a deal ever was made.

Mendes: Paul MacLean did not have any new update on the status of Craig Anderson this morning.

Garrioch reported that this injury typically takes 2-4 weeks depending on severity. So the Sens saying he is day to day was very optimistic

More interested in how Spezza is doing, how Cowen is doing, and how Karlsson is doing. Anderson as good as he is, is probably the most replaceable player that's injured right now.

Spezza is travelling with the team apparently. Cowen was mentioned earlier and nothing new on EK. I am guessing he is still in a cast.

I'm gonna guess a little less than 3 more weeks for Spez. Probably around the 21st-24th, just a feeling.

As for him travelling with the team, he might as well be the eye in the sky.

For moral support? Another eye in the sky?
