yeah if we could stop acquiring injury prone players or reclamation projects that would be great.

It'd be nice to have another RHS behind EK but he plays most of our PP so anyone behind him won't get much.
We badly need a top-6 forward with Michalek's wonky knees and Alfie retiring soon.

Boyle and Perry would immediately make this team a Cup contender - question is...will Anaheim let Perry go? Will Perry want to sign with a big(ish) market team? Does Perry want to play in Canada. Will the Sharks accept an offer from us that's relatively soft? Will Melnyk spend the $$ (I think so personally).
Many, many, many questions between now and the drop of the puck in October.

This would also get Alfi to take one more kick at the can and you can bet season tickets take a serious leap.
You add Boyle and Perry to the current (healthy) roster and they are the favorites in the East.

That's assuming SJ actually wants to trade him. I'm sure there is other options out there they have a list of.
We made a run for Nash last year which I think was more of a message being sent as well (don't think anyone thought he would go elsewhere but NY).
And we've got a long way to go before we are favorites over Boston in the East.
