yeah if we could stop acquiring injury prone players or reclamation projects that would be great.

especially from Columbus.

What would you pay for Gaborik theoretically... Massive price tag, always an injury concern, but filthy talent as well.

Nothing is worth it for a huge cap hit, age and injury prone with 1 year left I think. We'd be doing the Rags a favour since they will be in cap hell soon.

HFB is massive fail, can't believe someone thinks Cammalleri is a good idea.

Just sign Perry please, leverage those family connections here.

Gaborik would be a good plan B if we miss on Perry. the difference between New York and Ottawa is Karlsson and Wiercioch would give Gaborik breakaways every game and he would actually be able to score compared to Daugavins and Greening

Cowen doing light skating drills according to Mendes. Good to hear he's on the road to recovery.

Still a long ways off for sure but at least next year he will have a full camp to get back into the swing and hopefully have a solid, offensive type partner.

I look forward to having him back on our blue line. Hopefully with Gryba, as I think they compliment each other nicely.

Think some choices are going to have to be made on the blueline soon although they seem to be pretty happy with how Gryba, Weircioch, and Benoit are all playing. As is the defense next years looks like...

Methot/Karlsson
Cowen/Gryba (he can obviously handle NHL mins)
Weircioch/Phillips
Benoit/Boroweicki

I would rather see a guy like Gryba player on the 3rd pairing because they do need another offensive minded D man in that lineup... maybe Wiercioch will be ready for full time PP duty, maybe not. If they go for it next year I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a serious signing or move to shore up the backend.

That said we all know who that played should be an it's Boyle... Sharks have 12 players signed next year with 10 mil in cap space left... he's pretty obviously a guy that will probably be on the move and he has a limited NTC going into the summer which actually works against Ottawa because he was willing to waive once before to come here. That said, most teams worth a damn will have trouble adding Boyle's cap hit, Ottawa won't and chances are you can resign him at a decent cap hit for a 3 more years as well.

Also, the Sharks have nothing resembling a decent prospect outside of Hertl, they need to make some moves for picks and younger players.

I would think Wiercioch should be pretty effective on the PP, he's shown some great skill at times. Cowen looked pretty good at times last year. Between the both of them and EK they should be OK I think.

It'd be nice to have another RHS behind EK but he plays most of our PP so anyone behind him won't get much.

We badly need a top-6 forward with Michalek's wonky knees and Alfie retiring soon.

Boyle is probably more effective as a 2nd pairing D man now anyways and a guy who can run a top PP unit, he's also very solid on the PK and underrated defensively. IMO, going into next year if Alfi comes back he might be more important than a Corey Perry type. Add Boyle to the Sens blueline and it's the best in the NHL possibly... Boston's is pretty solid too.

Depends on what the Sens management think of Ceci I guess, but that's a nice transition from Boyle into Ceci IMO. Boyle and Perry would immediately make this team a Cup contender - question is...will Anaheim let Perry go? Will Perry want to sign with a big(ish) market team? Does Perry want to play in Canada. Will the Sharks accept an offer from us that's relatively soft? Will Melnyk spend the $$ (I think so personally).

Many, many, many questions between now and the drop of the puck in October.

It doesn't matter what Anaheim wants. All the talk is that Perry will not be resigning with them. Where he goes is another story but Anaheim can't force him to stay.

If the Sens want Perry, they need to go after Boyle first. You need to show the UFA's they are serious about winning now and then backup the Brinks truck. That's how you build a team. This would also get Alfi to take one more kick at the can and you can bet season tickets take a serious leap.

You add Boyle and Perry to the current (healthy) roster and they are the favorites in the East.

That's assuming SJ actually wants to trade him. I'm sure there is other options out there they have a list of.

We made a run for Nash last year which I think was more of a message being sent as well (don't think anyone thought he would go elsewhere but NY).

And we've got a long way to go before we are favorites over Boston in the East.

They may be forced to... 53 mil with 12 players signed going into next year, that's a huge issue. He has a limited NTC as well where he can give a list of 8 teams he doesn't want to be traded to as well.

Hopefully he can come back and add a little depth as well. Sens are starting to get too many bodies on the roster though and by the sounds of it DD isn't going anywhere anytime soon... guys on 1 ways are getting bumped for him.

I really want Latendresse back. He and Michalek are actual NHLers with experience. This is NO disrespect to Stone and Silf and guys like that, but these kids will have their ups and downs, especially with enormous pressures on them. If Michalek and Latendresse come in and don't produce, it still helps them by taking some of the pressure off them.
