Another candidate to go down is Zibanejad, but I think he's really shown lately that he can play in this league.

It will take him a few years to find that consistency they want from him but he's been pretty good since being sat. Gotta keep rolling with him because at this point he's not hurting because he's in the NHL right now.

He's shown he can score a little. Mind you, DD is our scoring him if you normalize to the number of games played. Outscoring everyone, I'd think.

Turris is trying out there. He is just unlucky and obviously not ready to fill a #1 role (if ever). I think he still needs to hit the gym in the summer, he still looks weak out there(although way better than last year).

I think Turris would benefit from a different winger than Silf. Silf is in a bit of a rut, not really getting the same chances he was, not creating them for himself. It's all part of the learning curve. A guy coming in like Stone, who can both set plays up and score might be just what the doctor ordered. Should be exciting to watch him.

Turris and Silfverberg are both RH shooters who like to score... never thought it would work. Turris needs a winger like Alfi for sure but another guy that will go in the corners and dish the puck... someone like Stone really or Latendresse (but he may not come back).

At the end of the day the top two lines should look like

Silfverberg/Spezza/Michalek
Stone/Turris/Alfi

Pretty balanced with goal scoring and play making.

The other problem is that it's tough to have any kind of open ice without Karlsson... he gives everyone an extra inch and an extra second.

Great news! I think this might be the end of DD in Ottawa for a couple of weeks.

Putting Stone and Michalek in and taking Daugavins and JOB out will help the offense in a big way. Also take a lot of pressure off Turris, Silfverberg, and Alfi. Hopefully they can click right away... another point in this game would be fantastic.

They don't need to win but they need to keep it close and give themselves a chance to which they always do.

Yeah, I'd take a point without complaint. Nice to get Michalek back. Stone is a rookie whose played 1 NHL game in his life, so he won't be the saviour, but for sure Michalek will open up some time and space for Turris and Alfie etc.

What?

His knee isn't 100% and he'll need surgery at the end of the season. He'll "deal with it" until then.

I bet he'll injure it before then and have surgery earlier. It's happened before.

According to the reports, he did not have a concussion.
