The coach of the team with the top-winning percentage is automatically in, with the second coached picked by the league. Right now the B-Sens have a .696 winning percentage, while Syracuse is at .694. Both teams play Monday. Binghamton will be hosting St. John's, while the Crunch travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Dallas Eakins of the Marlies is the coach of the Western Conference with a win percentage of something like .661. So both Bingo & Syracuse have better win percentages.

I hope Bingo wins... It's up to them. So go B-Sens... Do it for Luke.... Would be fantastic for him as a rookie coach to have the best win percentage not only in the Eastern Conference.. but in the entire AHL. Get it done guys...

15 minutes to game time (early game because of New Year's Eve and all). Bishop in goal. Scratches:

Do they really have a player with the last name "New" or is that some funny typo in that tweet?

Ice Caps get a long 5-on-3 and capitalize to take the lead. First penalty was Benoit for delay of game. Second one was Borowiecki for high sticking. I'm beginning to have really serious doubts about him being NHL ready. Certainly not this year. He's taking *way* too many penalties, often at very inopportune moments.

It's 1-1 now.

I agree about Mark Borowiecki, I don't think he's actually ready. No one takes that many penalties without either the speed of the game being too much for them, or their hockey IQ isn't great. He needs work - and Luke Richardson is the right guy to teach him.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear him staying in the AHL next year as well. Meanwhile Wiercioch is killing it and has surpassed him on the depth chart (IMO) as of the right now.

Hoff ties it up with Silf getting an assist. I believe that was a 5-on-3 goal as well.

Syracuse leads Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 2-1 late in the game.

Prince, Grant (short-handed), Stone (empty-netter) put it away in the third before the Ice Caps score one with a second to go. B-Sens win 4-2 and Luke Richardson will coach the East All Stars.

That's Grant's 4th shortie of the year, and the B-Sens' 9th -- tops in the league.

Stone is making a habit of empty-net goals.

Congrats to Luke and the entire B-Sens team. The best win % at Dec 31 of .707 in the entire AHL.. Makes us Sens fans proud..

With all the B-Sens success, the guy I feel the best for is definitely Luke Richardson.

Wiercoich will be in Ottawa come game 1 if they start the season. No question. He jumped back over everyone.

Luke Richardson named as coach for the AHL All Star Game. Dallas Eakins also named.

Well done BSens!

I think the coach with the best record automatically gets the All Star Game gig. But certainly well-deserved.

I've been having a bit of a back-and-forth with Bob Howard (part-time color man for B-Sens). He had tweeted how the lineup could look different if/when the NHL season started up again. He basically felt the B-Sens would be without Bishop, Silfverberg and Borowiecki. I told him Boro has regressed, taking too many penalties (which often means he's out of position) and Wiercioched has lapped him. In fact Gryba has a better chance (being a RH) at this point.

Don't know if Boroweicki regressed but his season has not gone as expected. Needs to find his game again though.
