Wonder if the lockout will still be going on by the time the Islanders are in Brooklyn?

I think this will just further the stalemate since NHL will try to stick it further to NHLPA. not good imo,

Feels like they're following the same script as the NBA lockout, especially since the NBA commissioner is friends with Bettman and has been advising him.

It might end the same way.

Bettman to owners: Offers will now get worse the longer they take.
Fehr to players: Don't worry boys, offers will get better the longer we wait.

Fack.

Or by the time DiPietro is off the IR.

In software development we would call this a deadlock.

A closer look at the numbers... they're not that far off... after 4 years...

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/globe-on-hockey/nhl-closer-to-a-deal-than-they-think/article4634609/

Problem is, owners want it now, players want it later.

Interesting mention of future revenues the NHL knows it has coming... wondering if Fehr is feeding them these lines about "hidden" revenues that the NHL is expecting but not sharing info on...

Well the NBA didn't have the Fehr factor not to mention I think they had some marathan negotiation sessions.

NHL and NHLPA haven't met for more than a few hours at a time and it was over non-core issues. Once they get into core economics it's over in an hour or less.

David Stern is retiring in 2014. Maybe Bettman's dream finally comes true...

Well NHLPA, time is up! Gary is going to take his toys and leave the sandbox.

Here we go.

Heh. Fehr on the NHL:

"They seem to be really good at imposing deadlines and issuing ultimatums and having lockouts. It seems to be something they're well-practiced at."

We need a cage fight between Fehr and Bettman to settle this.

PPV. All proceeds go to the winning side.

No, all proceeds go to HRR, then get split 50/50, except 12% of the players' take goes into escrow and the paid out as "make-whole" payments over the next 10 years, excluding years where there is a work stoppage.

How is a 14,500 seat arena a future revenue driver?

Another sinkhole in Ottawa. This time downtown on Elgin. I'm getting some ideas of where we can put Fehr and Bettman.
