Really?? Because you have inside information or he's so valuable that there is no way he can be traded.

I've not heard Murray state once that Zibby is untouchable. If Zibby being traded is what it would take to get Nash then Zibby is gone, there is no way Murray will hold up getting a player like Nash just because he likes Zibby.

Read my second post. I just don't see them completing any deals like that, that's all. He would be the main piece in a deal for Nash or Ryan.

Ok..damn, posted before you replied...

I agree...I just don't see Nash wanting to come and Murray willing to the huge package that Columbus wants

Zibby also has two concussions. That's gotta be a concern for Sens management. Who know what one more may do. They also have an excess of high-potential forward prospects: Stone, Silfverberg, Noeson, Prince, Puempel, etc.

I see Zibby's potential as being similar to Bobby Holik. Bishop was acquired for a 2nd rd pick and we have some depth at that position right now. Foligno is good but we have an excess of 3rd line players. His potential is nowhere close to Marcus'. If it means we give up these three players to get an Olympic gold medalist who's thrived without anyone else on his team then you have to take the chance. The trick is getting Methot out of CLB too.

He sure would. I've been a believer in the caveman for a while now. I'd love to see him on the Sens.

He believes in you too, old friend.

They were not serious. He was and is back to 100%. If you're concerned with concussions then they would trade Michalek too who has suffered a couple as well. They would trade Zibanejad because he has the highest value, not because of anything health related.

The bolded I do not agree with at all. Marcus will be lucky to top out at what Foligno has already done. He's just a shiner new toy who is nothing special. Marcus is just a bigger guy.

Also I would trade Bishop obviously, but the Sens have the worst goaltending depth in the league in their prospect ranks.

Sorry, but I really don't think there's such thing as a "non serious" head injury. Sure, there are different classifications and grading systems for concussions, but that has to do with the severity of that one concussion. It might just very well mean that the equivalent of one of the worst graded concussions is the same as 4-5 less severe ones.

Point is - it is a brain trauma, and repeated traumas are not good.

Even if he's medically better he will play with less of an edge the same way you would if you had a head injury. It's inevitable.

I sincerely think Marcus will be better than Nick. Too early to tell now but in his limited time last year I thought Marcus looked quite good. Nick is net crasher and a dirty hockey player whether you want to admit it or not. Skillwise I think Marcus has him beat.

I would wager that every single prospect in the NHL has suffered a concussion or two in their junior careers. Most suffer a slight concussion when getting hit hard.

Hell a ton are misdiagnosed these days so it's not even 100% factual that Zibanejad had a concussion or two.

point is, the concussion issue is overblown these days and any player you have can suffer a concussion. Doesn't matter if they had one in the past or not.

look at all the players who suffered concussions this year. The overwhelming majority came back within a short period of rest time and are 100%. Look at Max Pacioretty or Crosby if you're concerned about concussions.

^ Doesn't necessarily make Marcus a better hockey player but I think his ceiling could be a lot higher.

Very valid point.

Saw this in a comment on Sens Chirp:

"I just heard on EDM radio (Jason Gregor from 1260) who are in Pittsburgh that the rumor right now amongst GM's, scouts, and NHL personnel is that OTT is one of the leading candidate to land Nash. Said the rumors are saying that the players mentioned down in Pit is:

One of the Sens young goalies (Lehner/Bishop)
Zibanajed
1st rd pick 2012
Foligno
and 1 or 2 prospects (didn't mention which ones)"

For what it is worth.

Nothing is happening (no surprise)

Why do people believe that when GMs say it? They always say nothing is happening right up until something happens.

Haha, yah, he's not close but guess what? Time is running out. There's a weekend to do it and it's this weekend. We'll see though but GM's talk out of their Donkey until the draft is over.

Some teams may want to wait until after July 1st to see if they miss out on Parise...but then after someone lands Parise, in theory the Nash market gets smaller by one team, which could make a big difference.

He's asking for too much, this talk of trading 5 pieces for Nash tells me we should pass.

We're going to get :rp:
