Except that it would make no sense. Erixon is probably on the team next year, Kreider is a huge piece for NY. If Faulk is a deal breaker for CAR then Kreider is to NY.

The stuff you want to get rid of from Ottawa is the exact same. They are our "huge pieces" and "deal breakers" as far as I'm concerned.

Everyone forgets how much Murray strings along the media. Didn't he say that he hoped to begin negotiations today with EK?
“Realistically, I don’t know,” Murray said. “But I think my job as a general manager is to investigate every possibility to improve our hockey team and that’s what I’ve done. I’ve talked to Scott on the basis of what we might be able to do and we’ll just have to see what he comes back with, if he does.
“My job is always to be involved, if I can, in any big player transaction.”
Nash could be traded somewhere in the next few days, with draft picks being included as part of the deal. Columbus is scheduled to pick second at Friday’s entry draft in Pittsburgh.
“I’m not sure the urgency that Columbus has,” Murray said. “It seems to me that it’s not a big, big hurry and they’re going to do it on their terms. They’re going to try and include as many teams as they can. The impression I got is that when it happens, it happens.”

Well, Kreider is 7 years Nash's junior, has played in 14 more playoff games, and has 7 pts to Nash's 3. NY is really high on him, as you see by putting him into the lineup. It makes no sense for NY to put him in a trade for Nash.
Zibanejad is nowhere near Kreider at all. One played in NA in NCAA then appeared in 18 playoff games, putting up 7 points (5 goals). Zibanejad played 9 NHL games before being sent to the SEL where his team finished out of the league, and he suffered two concussions. You can downplay that all you want, but he is not at Kreider's level right now.
Ottawa absolutely needs a top 6 forward - and who is there? We are talking about NOW and not "hopefully in a few years". We are not signing Parise, and if Parise was under contract and on the block, you'd be paying the same for him as you would Nash. As I said they are identical in stats, one just played on a superior team.
Crazy dream, right? Well, not according to Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray, who has talked with Columbus Blue Jackets counterpart Scott Howson “several times” about a possible trade.
“Realistically, I don’t know,” Murray said. “But I think my job as a general manager is to investigate every possibility to improve our hockey team and that’s what I’ve done. I’ve talked to Scott on the basis of what we might be able to do and we’ll just have to see what he comes back with, if he does.
