Stanley Cup Finals 2012

Who and when a the last time a team won on home ice? I was trying to find a list, but aside from checking past winners, the game they won it in, and then finding out who had home ice, there doesn't appear to be a definitive list.

They remind me a lot of this years Kings. Big, strong, physical, talented with a tremendous goaltender. We were doomed.

Yeah, when it all comes together for a team, there's not much you can do. Looking at Anaheim's lineup from that year (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Stanley_Cup_Finals) they were built damn near perfectly.

They were very deep...look at the forwards:

Selanne, Perry, Kunitz, Getzlaf, Penner, Andy McDonald, Todd Marchant, Pahlsson...Diddle, they even had Ryan Shannon and Shawn Thornton, two good depth guys.

Our depth on forward wasn't quite as good...we had Oleg Freakin Saprykin, Schubert, Mcgrattan, etc....

Anyway, I don't want to drudge up history, but that Anaheim team was a fine-tuned machine. A perfect mix of youth and experience, snipers and two-way forwards.... And then they had Pronger and Niedermayer, and Cussing JS Giguere (1.87 GAA in the playoffs that year). It all came together for them...much like it has for LA. The comparisons are there.

Tonight's the night...off-season here we come!

The only way this goes 5 is if the Kings let off the gas and start thinking about the what their plans are with the CUP

Too bad for LA, would have been nice to see them win at home. Hopefully they don't choke. Devils score more tonight than they had all season.
