Not surprised at all, and neither should you be. You can bet he got a stern warning, and if he does anything again he'll probably get 2 right away. In that particular play, as Zetterberg comes in he slashes him on the left leg and then pushes him into the boards from behind. Zetterberg wears a visor, Weber does not. Weber then whacks him (not drives him) on the head, and then he grabs him and drives his head into the boards -- the second one did not look nearly as forceful as the first. I think Zetterberg is full of it when he says his helmet was cracked. It wasn't a hard-enough hit.

The $2,500 was a joke but under the current CBA that's the most they can do. If it had happened earlier in the game maybe he would have gotten a major or double-minor, but in the last minute it hardly mattered.

Bitz getting suspended is Shanahan's feeble attempt to show he means business. But neither player is really that important to his team, and because they don't get paid for the playoffs, he actually doesn't even lose any money.

It wasn't incredibly hard, but it was still a deliberate, unnecessary hit to the head that had nothing to do with the game. That's EXACTLY the type of stuff they need to get rid of.
