You always want your #2 to be in game shape too. Anything can happen with your #1.

This will be Anton Khudobin's first NHL action this season.

This game will likely not be an indicator of what to expect in the playoffs, considering the lineups, but Sens could benefit from setting the tone early and hitting hard.

If Ottawa wins by about 8 goals and injures a bunch of Bruins players it absolutely will be a clear indicator of what to expect in the playoffs.

It will be a decent indicator if we can match up against their system. Of course Chara and his 10 foot stick is a big part of their defence.

I'd say if we cannot beat them without Chara, Thomas and Bergeron we ain't beating them in the playoffs.

It's more about giving Bishop game time after his injury and before the playoffs start. He needs to test it out to make sure he's ready to go if needed.

Exactly.

Sooo why can't that be done against New jersey?

Last game goes to the starter?

Maybe the Sens strategy in the playoffs is to shoot the puck in Chara's corner and go after him. Sure he's big.. but keep hitting & hitting & hitting. He has played a lot of hockey... and that might help to slow him down somewhat.

Also, don't wake up Lucic or Marchand... don't get them mad....

Impt for the Sens to come out hard in game #1 and try to win that one..

Yeah that's not exactly widespread. Anyways, it is what it is. But I think it was a good opportunity for Anderson to gain some confidence against the Bruins. Don't want no center ice goals again on him....

I would imagine, yeah. I would do that if I was coach, get him warm for Game 1. I'd rest Alfie and Spez tonight and let Karlsson decide if he wants to go or not - the point record is a HUGE deal.

I'd rest everyone actually, give O'Brien, Daugavins, Z.Smith, Turris, Klink, Konopka, Winchester, Condra, more minutes, maybe play Neil a little more, burn a couple of call ups and let Petersson and Hoffman play some minutes, Boroweicki too - that's our final three callups we're allowed, sit Phillips or Cowen. I'd sit everyone tonight personally. Who cares.

Why give the Bruins one last look at your starting goalie? Starting Bishop is the right call. Better Anderson go Saturday so he is not one week between starts.

Series will start Thursday. Looking at arena availability, Game 1 of the series will start Thursday, Game 7 would be Wednesday April 25th.

Yeah, I'm wondering about that myself. Not questioning, because who am I to question the Great and Powerful McStache.

That's not a Defending Stanley Cup Champion defensive lineup. McQuaig is 6'4" and Seidenberg is 6'1". Everyone else is 6'0" or smaller. Krug is 5'9"!

What do we know about Khudobin? His NHL stats are very good (4-1 with .955 SV% and 1.39 GAA) but that's with Minnesota, and a small sample size.

I've got to admit, I'm a bit nervous. If the Bruins lose they can shrug it off saying they weren't playing Chara, Thomas or Bergeron, and Boychuk was on the mend (still haven't heard if he's going to be ready for the post-season or not). So they've got nothing to lose.
