What's next for Montreal? With rumours about Quebec getting a team in a few years possibly, and Patrick Roy allegedly "on retainer", could it be him?

Shawn Simpson says the timing in this is all to allow the Habs to get Roy on board before Quebec gets the Phoenix franchise later this year.

...but they apparently have Roy on retainer there. I assume he can break that, but it might be harder than people think.

That said, Hartley is a perfect choice to run that team as coach.

I think there's been a lot of downplaying regarding a potential NHL team in Quebec, including the 3 year timeline for the new arena construction. On the other hand, the team would either lose less or potentially make money in Le Colisee in the meantime.

I'm loving this! will they have a GM in place with a competent drafting team in place for this year draft? lots of picks they could waste. Sarcasm

It's Quebec City. They could hold games outdoors, just during the winter months, and still sell more tickets than Phoenix.

On the "Montreal Forum" (call in show on 990) the fans are calling for McGuire. He's got Scotty Bowman's endorsement, and that's good enough for the Oles.
