Yeah, we need the Devils to start losing NOW. 6th would certainly be ideal.

Also, obviously, a lot will riding on Matrix , so if he comes back and keeps up his good play, that'll be a big factor. He has shown the ability to steal games for us, which is critical in the playoffs.

Really, the thing Cussing us over right now is the stupid rule where the division leaders get the first three spots. Although if you take Florida down to where they should be, then we're likely facing Pittsburgh or Philly in the first round. I don't want to play Pittsburgh if they have Crosby back in the lineup, but we could do well against Philly.

Anyway, a lot can change...also, imagine if Thomas were to go down towards the end of the season or early in the 1st round? With no Rask behind him, they'd have Turco in net to start the playoffs. Oh, and wouldn't you know it, our 2nd last game of the season on April 5th is against the Bs. That might be a good time to put Konopka in and have him "fall" on Thomas.

Jersey has some tough games coming up. Isles on Sat, back to back games vs Philly, Avs, Pitt, Rags, Sens.

We're 1 point back and they have 2 games in hand... would be nice to get into that 6th spot.

Certainly ideal and not out of the realm of possibility for sure.

due to Turco being picked up after the trade deadline he is not eligible to play in the playoffs.

I'd rather face florida or the rangers before facing the Bruins. i think either scenario is possible at this stage but I could see us moving into 6th. we've got two games left against the devils including their final regular season game. thos in my mind might be key and might actually be the difference at that stage if it comes to be that close.

Can't remember the exact stats but over the last 10-12 years, the vast majority of SC finalists either did not qualify for the playoffs or were out in the first round. That trend has been bucked recently (CHI out in 1st rd last year, Philly out in the 2nd quickly and PIT/DET two years in a row), but it is very difficult to get back.

I think Boston is the worst matchup for Ottawa but it doesn't intimidate me as much as it did a month ago.

Spots 5-8 are all within reach, and hell, if Boston implodes, the NE Division could be up for grabs. Lots of movement still to happen.

Depends on who we play. We match up quite well vs the Rangers IMO. The difference is obviously Lundqvist, but we've shown we can beat him this year (2 out of 3 games).

If it's Boston, we're in trouble, I'll admit to that.

If it's Florida or Washington - we also matchup well against those teams.

If it's the Pens, we're in trouble, I'll also admit that.

So where is the 4 game sweep in that? If the Sens play Boston or Pittsburgh, I can see us bowing out in 5 or 6, but where's the sweep coming from?

There's no need to respond to trolls, unless it's Neely. Sarcasm

Well, I'm convinced. This EDM troll, who probably doesn't watch the Sens or games in the East, clearly has it all figured out. Glad we settled that issue so quickly.
