He'll be ok. Maybe someone will go on waivers. Or, even better, maybe they'll increase the number of contracts each team can have to 60...waiver pickups to come.

Amusing to see TSN and Sportsnet hyping their trade deadline show again, not much will happen on that day methinks, at least nothing worth dedicating a whole show on.

Remember when Dreger and Bob McKenzie said last week that Ruutu would be traded "this week?" Now this week is "this week" which was supposed to be last week.[i]

Update: "This week", which was originally 2 weeks ago, then last week is now this week.

Point totals maybe, but he had 93 goals in 3 and 3/4 years in Edmonton. Pretty much a 25 goal average and I'd imagine he's back to being a little more in shape. He's worth a shot IMO.

Exactly, there's no one on the market as it is, why are they re-signing a moveable asset? Also...their D has blown this year, re-signing a guy who was a part of it is smart? And...wasn't Sutton scratched in the two previous games before he started to play 'decently'? Odd, odd move. Someone doesn't get what 'rebuild' means.

All speculation though. Why Brassard? He's soft for what the Leafs are trying to do. Although they did sign Connolly.
