2.Cowen/alternate
3.Da Costa
4.Zibanejad

all need to see the AHL or SEL.

Can it be any worse if Mark Parrish, Daugavins/Filatov are called up? O'Brien maybe? Or not, but it couldn't hurt for Rundblad, Cowen and Da Costa all to see some action where they can get in some real key situations and learn in a place that isn't the best league in the world.

EDIT: Or not, who even knows anymore. I don't think it could get worse right now, so let's hope it gets better somehow.

Both cowen and rundblad could use some time in the AHL. I still thinkthey need to finally make a decision on zibanejad's future. There's just waaay too much line juggling. Our special teams would make blind kids cry

Seriously? Nothing bad? I saw plenty good and bad from rundblad tonight.

And it's not necessarily that he needs time in the ahl but he could use it. So could cowen. So could kuba.....sigh.

Not really to be honest, from my point of view. Even if he makes mistakes, so what? We're gonna nitpick every detail opf his game?

Rundblad looks confident, he doesn't need AHL IMO. You're not sent to the AHL because you make rookie mistakes.
AHL is needed when you don't believe in yourself and start to play tentative and the coach is afraid to put you out there. That's Jared Cowen right now.

Hard to say. A lot of Cowen's mistakes appear to be confidence based and if there's any way possible for him to get his confidence back in the NHL, I'd do that. With Rundblad it appears to be more decision making - which I think was like Karlsson. Either way, it wouldn't be the end of the world if they both stayed, but something has to give, it's amateur night out there.

Why not hone your skills more in the ahl and get more confidence? I don't care if he doesn't appear to lack confidence, he's also not making the team better. But I agree. Cowen could use the time there more than rundblad. This losing isn't helping anyone.

I'll say one thing for certain: Paul MacLean has a ton of work to do, that's just not good enough.

I hate to pin losses on a goalie, but with the mentality of this team, auld's gotta stop that first goal. It's always downhill from the first goal allowed....

3 friggin rookies scored their first goal tonight against Ottawa. Ouch.

Yeah, they look like a fragile team right now, and letting in that soft goal over the shoulder was a recipe for disaster.

Obviously there is lots of work to be done, but I think once Anderson gets in his groove, we'll see close, competitive games. There's not much point in debating which rookies need to go to the AHL, as I think we all agree that all of them could use a little AHL seasoning, but we don't really have the bodies to make that possible at this point.

I now know why all those media-types were picking Ottawa to finish at the bottom of the Eastern Conference!!
