If Konopka and Rundblad are in, who is out (pick two)?

Da Costa may be Ottawa's pleasent surprise this year.

I thought DaCosta showed some selfishness out there with the long shifts and sometimes trying to break in one on three, instead of dumping it in. He'll learn that you can't do that at this level.

He isn't used to the 40-50 seconds shift yet. That's something that is coached and he will adjust to it. Wouldn't call it selfish, would call it inexperience.

Either way, he's been impressive and looks like he could be a legit 2nd line center with some patients.

Heh. Just call him Dr. Da Costa.

Butler being out is the right move, he's done nothing and is providing absolutely no offense.

OK, "selfish" was a bit subjective. And I agree he'll learn and adjust.

As per Mendes:

MacLean confirms that Butler will be healthy scratch for Konopka. 5 centers tonight.

Despite defensive breakdowns last night, no changes to Ottawa blue line tonight. Rundblad a healthy scratch again.

SeawaySensFan that the Dirty Leafs will be massa - creed tonight. StickmanDancing

Didn't realize this, but as the Sens travel to Toronto, the Marlies travel to Bingo. The Battle of Ontario will be waged on multiple fronts.

I only saw the highlights of the game, but from what I've heard from you lot, this makes a lot of sense. Butler needs to contribute to be relevant. If he isn't bringing his A-game, what's the point? I hope he recognizes how narrow a window he's working with and rises to the challenge.

Petersson, Hoffman, Stone, Noesen, Peumpel, and Prince. All looking for a spot in the next year or two, Butler does have a short window.

So, because lots of people are competing for jobs, his window gets larger? How does that make sense?

EDIT: My apologies, I read the word "not" in there between "does" and "have." Ignore everything written above this line.

As per ScottyMac: Sens captain Daniel Alfredsson is battling a nasty head cold but will play tonight.

I falfie is sick I'd sit him. And I for won would rather see Butler in the line up. sure he hasn't been fantastic in the pre-season but I think he showed presence last night. I would of put da costa as that second line center. I'm not sure how well he can do with our 4rth line. put some offensive help on his wing.

Let's see how well they learned the lesson that Detroit gave them. It wasn't exactly free, but let's hope it was a good deal.
