DOn't think anybody's talking about pairing both though.

He was talking about my Cowen-Karlsson comment.

wprager are you basing that comment on stats or observation?

I think they want to see what Zib can bring to the table if he isn't slated to play center. speaks to me like they would be interested in maybe keeping him and him being able to play in more then one role as they come up. injury wise.
I'd much rather have seen him play with Regin tonight. Actually I wish speza was centering that first line. and then
Regin- DaCosta- Zibanejad.
that be a sight.all three trying for that 2nd center position but on the same line.

A lot of us were waiting for Z-Bad to be played on wing. He can play the position and seems like the Mike Fisher player we never had for Spezza. It's a possibility - as someone said, there will be injuries up and down the lineup. He might be able to make it...

Here's the thing though. If you give him 9 games and then he returns to Djurgarden, he will only be able to play 40 SEL games since they have already been playing for 2 weeks. If you keep him here, he will be able to play in 73 games.

But then after the SEL season he can come back and either play here or win a Calder cup Sarcasm

He'll also play the WJC games, including exhibition, and possibly the WC, with a greater likelihood of seeing post-season action there than here.

The bottom line is that there are enough players competing for the same spots (bottom 9 forward spots) that he has to be at least on par with all of them to stay here.

If he isn't a top-9 forward 10 games into the season, he won't be here for that 10th game. I don't think that can be argued.

Yeah, the WJC and SEL playoffs, then Bingo run would compensate.

He probably wouldn't come over to play for Binghamton. Just like Rundblad didn't

On bad eyesight. I could have sworn it read Gonchar/Karlsson. The C and G look very similar, they both have an 'n', then there's ... umm ... I got nothing.

You think Mike could have ever finished that one-timer in OT?

Ha, trick question. Yes, he could of, but I think Z-Bad has the potential for better hands.

Maybe it would be better, then, to give him 4-5 games now and, if he's not blowing everyone away, send him back to Sweden, and bring him up for the other 5-4 games at the tail end of the season. Assuming we're sellers at the trade deadline there will be more room in the lineup for him.
