Very handy charts.

Cool thanks. Went out yesterday, didn't know Elliott got signed.

interesting, I imagine Toronto will overpay for his services now.
I hope richards knows this means he's not winning another cup as long as he's a rangers... If there's a god.

I think they have one of the best teams of up and comers, this was a great move, I think they'll be a tough team for a long time unfortunately.

that's what I'm affraid of. funny thing is that most of the big names sathers has brought over haven't done much to help the team. can he please get fired?

Not after this signing IMO, plus he built up their prospect core a lot. I think in a VERY weird way, he's done a commendable job cleaning up his own mess and making the Rangers a strong team.

Gilroy signs in Tampa.

I didn't realise Niclas Bergfors was an UFA. I think the Sens should consider this kid.

Agreed, he must have some major character issues though to be traded twice, then not qualified.

That's true. Too bad, the kid has some sick skill.

I figured that we'd see a few signings immediately after the Richards deal. Instead, today is what yesterday was supposed to be:

I keep seeing the acronym "AAV." Can someone tell me what it stands for? It's clearly used to mean average cap hit. Annual AVerage? Is it that simple?

I don't know anything about him but just because FLA didn't qualify him, I would not assume too much. This FLA team traded for grabner last summer. Their evaluation could not have been good since they put him on waivers. You know the rest of story, including he was finalist for Calder.

However if bergfors is a fit somewhere, I'm sure he will get offers.

Florida.

Going through the teams, that's the first thing I thought of. Tallon will dispense of Clemmenson and have a Theodore/Vokoun set up.

The 7 teams that did the best job so far are Detroit, Vancouver, Pitts, Toronto, Boston, San Jose, and Ottawa. I hate to admit that I like what 3 or 4 of those teams did (or didn't do) but they stuck to the plan and made choices that won't affect the long term goals of their franchises or hurt them in the short terms.

All these teams going out and spending a ton of cash of marginal top 6 guys or top pairing d men are just ignoring what has been proven not to work over the last 20 games. Team chemistry counts for a lot and places like Florida, Columbus, and New York are just going to find themselves in the same spot they have been for the last 10 years at the end of the day.

That's why I love what Ottawa has done and Bingo. They are building a ton of chemistry and when they start to win a little (and it will be coming) they will all appreciate it that much more because they did it as a group. That's why I like Ottawa's chances next year in terms of fighting for a playoff spot.

Respect to NYI as well for not giving Erhoff that stupid deal. They seem to have turned the corner in a sense but their played development still lacks in a big way.

Who does Phoenix have now? Maybe Washington as well, outside chance at Edmonton.
