I think it would be a good move, but they still have too much cap tied up in guys like Stajan and Langkow.

I love that Murray refused to sign a back up to a contract longer than a year because he wants to keep that spot open for Lehner in 2012. Fantastic. No questions, no uncertainty. We know exactly what's happening with our goaltending.

I know eh? it looks like a home run right now. it would of been interesting to see what he would of fetched on the open market. I thought since the FA pool was so thin GM's would find other ways of acquiring talent but by the sounds of it they lost their collective mind.

Yost seems to think that Edmonton is a big player going after Vokoun. That would be huge for the Oil.

Weird that they waited until today. Today is his 35th bday, which means when he signs, it'll be a 35+ contract. If they had signed him yesterday, the team would have been in the clear. They would have been able to give him a couple of extra years with no danger that if he retires, it would count towards the cap. Oh well.

I think they have one of the best teams of up and comers, this was a great move, I think they'll be a tough team for a long time unfortunately.
